I was hoping this was cordless. It's not, but at least the cord is long. The mask is thick but smaller. It's good for those who like a little weight on the eyes but probably not the best if you're also seeking 100% light blocking (due to gaps). The mask I received seems to be a black velour on the back side, gray cotton on the front facing side, with a lighter gray cover that can be removed for washing. The control is straightforward - power, heat, and temperature buttons and display. The price is okay $32.99 (but currently 25% off) but should have included a storage pouch. My husband likes this eye mask and said it is comfortable to use. The biggest drawback is that it needs to be plugged in while you are using it. We had previously used microwavable masks which we actually prefer.

I've been dealing with a bit of eyelid swelling due to allergies, as well as some dry eye symptoms. I read online how warm compresses can help with that, so I thought I'd give this mask a try. I really like the thin removable cover it has, that's a great feature. I try my best to take care of my skin, so hygiene related to anything that touches my face is a big deal to me. It has velcro, and feels like a thin jersey type fabric. It's soft and comfortable on the eyes. I removed and washed/dried it before trying the mask. I think it is probably a good idea to let the cover air dry to avoid any shrinkage, which I did. The mask itself has a bit of weight to it, and is filled with glass beads according to the packaging. The strap is generously sized, and can be adjusted for many different head circumferences. The mask has a small wire attached to it- this includes a separate cable that plugs into the wire on the mask on one end. The other end is regular USB, so you'll need a charging block and outlet. There is no internal battery, so it will have to be plugged in during use. You can detach the mask from the larger cable to store the mask when not in use. The small control panel "remote" is digital. It has three physical buttons: power, heat, and timer. The screen will show what heat level it's on (high, medium, low) and has a countdown timer. It has an auto shut off feature when the time you selected is up. There are four timing levels, ranging from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. For my first use, I chose 15 minutes on high heat. It did take about 2 minutes for it to actually heat up enough to feel like it was on "high". So it ended up being about 12-13 minutes of therapeutic use, however, I suppose that is expected. No big deal. Once it was fully heated, it felt amazing. It's so comfortable and relaxing and felt great on my dry tired eyes. My eyes felt... rejuvenated, once I took the mask off. I do really feel like it helped with the dryness. Most of the headaches I get involve pain right behind my eyes, and I feel like this would be a great help for those as well. This heated eye mask is mostly a winner. And the drawbacks that do exist may be inherent in the nature of it being an electrical appliance. I have become fond of the disposable self heating eye masks, especially when we have heavy winds or during allergy season. I loved the idea of something reusable and less wasteful. Where this excels is it's gentle heat. Heats up quickly and the timer is a great addition. It's very soothing and effective for me. What keeps it from being perfect? Well, it's lightweight considering it has to have the heating belt but that doesn't mean no weight at all. It's fine usually but there are times that might annoy more than it calms. Also, the cord is awkward but I'm not sure how that could be avoided. What is really annoying is the lack of a standard USB b or c connection to the mask. Yes, it has the USB a connection to power and the other end a round connection to the mask (not sure of the name for that type of connector) but if you lose that cable it'll be more challenging to find one that works. Overall, I do like this heated eye mask and it's effectiveness and will continue to use it, glad I found it. ... show more

The description says "USB Rechargeable" and it does not hold a charge. This product has to be used while attached to the wall which is kind of awkward. I find the cord gets in my way a lot and I end up having to lay sideways on the bed to keep my head near a USB dongle. It does heat up, but the description made it sound as if you could use it corded or charge it and that's just not the case. ... show more

I wished I had this when I had my stye last month since I hated doing hot compressed via water or by hand warmers. This mask has 3 settings (high, medium, and low) and can be connected to any USB port. You can also set a timer on it for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. I put this eye mask on the high setting for 15 minutes and it only takes a couple minutes to warm up. On the highest setting, it's not too hot at all. It feels comfortable on the eyes without feeling like you need to take it off right away. It does count down from the time you select to shut off. I believe this eye mask is stuffed with smaller beans, so it contours your face easily. The cord itself feels very lightweight and slightly cheap. but it doesn't seem like it would get in the way at all. The detachable cloth cover feels very nice and soft on the eyes and I appreciate the adjustable headband as well. Definitely great if you suffer through migraines, have a stye, or want to decompress with a heated eye mask. ... show more
