The media could not be loaded. TLDR I have zero experience with tig welding but this machine seems to work well for me. I am just a dude in the garage working on his junk trying not to spend a fortune on tools. I am confident I will be able to weld up a stainless exhaust on my car with more practice. That and I wanted a way to weld up any cracks that may form in my stainless turbo header. long version I cannot not give a proper review because that was my first time using it and the only tig welder I have ever touched. That and my extent of tig knowledge is a few hours of youtube tutorials. The HF start made arc initiation easy. I did not want to deal with scratch or lift start for my first tig experience. It lit every time I hit the button. The arc seemed stable with no popping or crackling. Welding pipe probably was not a good starting medium. I was having trouble keeping the proper torch angle. With proper angle it did seem to be very easy to control the puddle for a first timer like me. The foot pedal is just for on/off and no amp control. Honestly that is a downside but could not pass up the price. It was under 200 bucks from due to 85 dollars off right now and there is a mod to be able to wire in a variable amp pedal I may do. I am pretty happy with my first attempt but need more practice. I feel my technique is holding me back more so than this welder at this point. I am confident it will do a much better job than my flux mig welder. Honestly the flux mig is a nightmare to use compared to this. ... show more

If you need to weld aluminum, get this!!!! I am self taught on welding, and previously purchased a dc tig welder. Found out that was wrong for thin aluminum. This was reasonably priced and works great with the stock settings. I am sure my welds would even be better with some fine tuning adjustments, which this machine offers. My background is in welding. I have been under the hood for almost 7 years, in different industries and processes. I got this machine because I was sent some 316 and hastelloy pipe to weld for a customer. But had sold my previous machine since I was trying to stay away from my side jobs and bringing work home....but bills do need to be paid. I bought this in a pinch to get these spools welded.... and wouldn't you know it. It can actually TIG weld. Well it's not like any fancy machine and could use a slimmer torch with a gas lense but besides that it can start an arc of high frequency, it can maintain an arc, and it has a gas solenoid which for me is a big plus so I don't have to remember to turn my torch knob on and off every time. I also purchased a foot pedal off OfferUp to control my heat better. The cons are the amperage control with the foot pedal is not precise, you will notice if you let off the pedal slightly it drops about 10 amps off the bat which is too much for precise welds. The high frequency works but is wonky and takes a while for it to find a strong connection It is noisy as the fan is always on And the biggest con is that it does not Stick weld. Maybe my machine is faulty but I could not get 3/32 7018 or 6010 rods to weld AT ALL. I tried all the tricks to get it to maybe run a bead but either the arc would snuff out right away or it would establish and melt the work piece. Keep in mind I stick weld with various machines on a daily basis....this machine won't stick weld. Another note. I am running off a designated 220v 50a outlet. I have not tried 110 in TIG, only stick mode to try and see if it changed my results. Also I can tell already the torch will burn up quick if you are running above 115 amps. It hasn't yet but it is to flimsy internally to maintain that heat for extended periods. But for a couple hundred bucks this wil get you started. ... show more

Style: TIG-200P ACDC Aluminum Welder
This is my first experience welding. I got this machine because it is one of the cheapest welders that can do AC for aluminum. I did have an issue at first with the HF start not working. Support walked me through the process of adjusting the spark gap and it works great now. I'm not sure why it's not included in the manual, but the spark gap should be 0.8mm. Support was very responsive from YesWelder, and they speak fluent English! One minor annoyance is that the machine will not save the AC/DC setting. Every time I turn it on it is in AC mode and I have to remember to switch back to DC. ... show more

New to tig welding, worked like a champ out of the box, a week in and still working fine….some things you’ll need that don’t come with it) tungsten electrodes, tank of argon, regulator for bottle, gloves, helmet, filler rod, maybe a foot switch……mine came with welder leads for tig and stick, 3 cup sizes and ferrules for 3 different size tungsten, a hose but no regulator…….the welder itself is clean and solid, has good features for noobs like pulse tig, decent pre/post gas flow, all around great inexpensive welder, this model does not do aluminum, you’ll need an ac machine for that ... show more

Out of the box AC was not working properly. DC worked but something wasn't right. None of the settings seemed to help, still was inconsistent and did what it wanted. Takes over a month to return back to Kentucky USA. and still haven't got my refund yet.
