Even with the $40 shipping this cabinet still came in at a lower price point overall than any other like it that I could find. I took a chance based on the decent reviews and was not disappointed. It was not difficult to put together, but there are quite a few pieces and steps. I made a mistake in counting the pieces as I was assembling it and thought I was missing a shelf support, but ended up mistaking the piece for one of the door hinges. (I would just suggest just going slowly and taking your time; I also put a piece in backwards and had to undo a couple of steps to correct it.) Overall, it was fairly easy to put together (took my about an hour) and ended up quite sturdy. We don't open/close it very often, or store very much inside, so it has held up well. I replaced the plastic black knobs that were included with some faux leather fobs that I also found on Amazon to fit my decor better. The material for the black cabinet is as expected, and you can see close up that the edges seem a little worn, but it's not noticeable as a whole when you look at the cabinet (with doors closed). The metal feet are sturdy and match my West Elm Penn Chairs opposite the room perfectly. ... show more

I bought this as a tv stand and I will say it’s very sturdy and the fake wood had a faux texture which is nice but the doors don’t line up perfectly which drives me nuts. I also wish it came in other colors so I’ll probably end up painting it. Is it worth the price? No, but it is a nice cabinet that won’t fall apart that was pretty easy to assemble. ... show more

I needed to replace our open shelving media console with something that could be child-proofed. I had considered buying the expensive version of this from one of the big names, but when I found this option for such a great price, I thought it was an even better idea. Now I won’t feel as upset if my toddler causes damage to it, all the while it looks just as good as the expensive ones! From a distance of course, but no one is going up to a media console and knocking on it to determine if it’s solid wood, haha, It took my husband and I probably an hour total to assemble it. The instructions were relatively easy to follow, and there were extra pieces of hardware (which we didn’t need). Everything fit together perfectly, and we didn’t even have one argument during assembly (that’s a testament to how easy it was). Overall I’m extremely pleased with this purchase, and although I don’t expect these pieces to last forever, they are going to serve me well for the next few years I’m sure. ... show more

Just what I was looking for. Very easy to put together if you have experience, just takes 2 - 3hours or so. The only complaint is a couple of the screw holes were swapped with eachother so they ended up having missing screws but nothing serious so 5 stars 😊
