Description

Color:5mm How to use? This tool is used for punching leather. We can use the punched holes to put the leather together through a special thread. Easy to use? This set of tools is made of hard steel and has a large number of thread patterns on the surface, so as to ensure that we will not slip from our hands when using it. The height of the product is about 10cm, which provides consumers with a good feel. Each fork is carefully polished, not only very strong but also very sharp. It can be easily pulled out of the leather after punching, which is very labor-saving. How to save? We use an electroplating process on the surface of the tool, which makes it not easy to rust and can be used for a long time. However, we still recommend that you often apply oil on its surface to maintain it. When it is not applicable, it should be placed in a special box to protect its teeth from injury, so that it can be kept sharp for a long time.

  • Not The Same as Pro Chisels, But They’ll Do
Color: 5mm
I bought these after using the professional quality Japanese Seiwa diamond stitching chisels for some time. How do these India-made chisels compare with the significantly more expensive Japanese ones? These chisels are significantly thicker in one dimension, as shown in the first photo (with this product on the left), so won’t produce the same slim holes, and so the finished holes turn out a bit more ragged. Also, the points are longer, so they need to be hammered further through the leather to fully establish the hole. On the other hand, the Seiwa chisel teeth are subject to breakage under very heavy hammering (to be avoided), so these thicker chisels should be better in that regard (as well as much less costly to replace if any breakage occurs). In actual use, with thicker, heavier thread, such as 1.0 mm Ritza Tiger thread, the differences won’t show up in the final sewn leather results; all will be well! ... show more

  • Until I use them a lot I will leave what I think for now.
Color: 5mm
So these arrived the other day and I pulled them out of the bag. I had earlier ordered a 4.5mm 2 prong pricker but they were out of the 5 prong ones. I tried to purchase the original one but it shows up no where on my list of orders. Weird. I opened the package and took these out and did some testing with them. They are heavier than the first one I ordered in the barrel and the prongs are the same size. These are a diamond configuration and around 7 thread per inch. They punch a nice hole just large enough for my needle and any tight holes I use the awl for. I think these will do the job very well and for the price they can't be beat. I'll update after I use them for a while. But for me they are worth it. ... show more

  • Just Okay
Color: 5mm
These punches mediocre. They came in the expected spacing and do create alright holes. The main complaint I have is the surface finish on the metal. Because the metal has a raw matte finish, it can cause the prongs to get stuck in the leather, making it so I really have to pry it off. Other stitching chisels I've used are either chromed or finished with a black gloss PVD style coating which glides out of the holes nicely. On my next project I'll try waxing the prongs before punching, but its just kind of a pain in the ass, and not something I've had to worry about with other tools. ... show more

  • Poor finish
Color: 5mm
They will do the job, but so will a nail. The black paint causes a lot of friction making the iron difficult to remove from the leather, and will probably tear whatever glue is there apart. They're cheap so be prepared to grind the paint off and sand it to a polished finish if you intend on using them regularly. ... show more

  • Great Stitching
Color: 5mm
These do a great job for stitching hole placement and really make it easy to stitch the leather. They seem a lot more solid that some reviews suggest, and do well even in thick leather. And if they do break I will get a new pair as the price is right.

  • These are good tools
Color: 5mm
I liked the round handles, they were easy for me to grip as I have large hands. The tips of the prongs seem to really fit good into the stitching grooves I made in my leather work. Good value for the money and I like the fact that they are made of tool steel and not white metal.

  • Good value
Color: 5mm
These punches are just what I needed for occasional use. They are sturdy, inexpensive and do the job. I wasn't looking for professional grade. I used a stone to touch up the sharpness and they have held the edge well. Recommend.

  • THEY ARE SHARP

I haven't used them much but they did what I wanted them to do.
