this guitar is a little more pricey than others listed, but is WORTH it. a very solid guitar, and consistent. if playing-as just an acoustic, it is warm, yet sparkles. wonderful accessible action! a neck that feels right at home. Yamaha has made a wonderful solid guitar for playing gigs around town, or just having in your house to share with friends or family. So far excellent. Excited to get my new toy. Delivery by Amazon and box was in good shape. It comes in a very sturdy soft case with good padding. Would have liked to seen extra padding between the box and neck, but that's just me being a little risk focused. Tuned up quickly as the strings were slightly loose for storage. Initial sound seems very deep with lots of resonance. Haven't plugged it in yet to test the electronics. Stay tuned for more feedback :) ... show more

Absolutely love this guitar! I am a 20 year beginner playing, and this has opened my eyes to how important finding a guitar that is right for you is! I bought a Martin D-10E a month ago. LOVED it, but after a few weeks of ownership, the neck warped beyond repair and I had to return it. I was devastated because it sounded so dang good. Then I found this guitar while researching. It has an incredible sound and is SO easy to play. The Tobacco Sunburst is gorgeous. I look forward to playing this for years to come and passing it down! ... show more

There's nothing I don't like about this A3M guitar. I received it 12 hours ago, and I must have played 5-6 hours....I just can't put it down! The look, the feel, the sound....all of it. I have been guitar hunting for a while, and I'd set my mind on getting a Yamaha. If I could avoid spending too much money, I would, so I ordered 3 different guitars: a FGC-TA ...it arrived with terrible fret buzz and I returned it. Then I got the popular FGX830C....It arrived in a completely destroyed box with the guitar covered in dust. I tried it and really liked it. The 830 offers great value, and it IS a good guitar. BUT! Today the A3M arrived....and boy oh boy !!! Ok. So, the A3M comes with a bag and costs $ 1000. The 830 is about $ 550 but then you have to pay $ 150 for a case; so figure $ 700. Is the A3M worth the extra $ 300? Oh yes - you better believe it is. I would say it is worth A LOT more than that. Normally my fingers would be hurting like H... after playing acoustic for 5-6 hours...but they are not hurting at all! The rolled edges and the butter-smooth feeling of the A3M strings and fretboard....I am blown away (can you tell?). Yamaha...thank you for making such a guitar available at such an attractive price point....this guitar easily competes with guitars costing 2-3 times more. I had really hoped to spend a little less money, but now that I got it....totally worth it. This guitar is gonna stay with me. April 11th UPDATE: Plugged the guitar into my Boss Katana 100 Artist amp yesterday evening......no sound. This is a sad day. Witing for Yamaha to respond. I may have to return this one. ... show more

Really nice guitar for the price. Great sound and playability. Has a buzz I need to deal with, which brings up the fact that Yamaha does not warrant any product that is not purchased from an authorized dealer. Overall a good guitar. Bought the AC3R and the A3M. They're both fun. AC3R sounds slightly richer and fuller. ( Rosewood vs. Mahogony) A3M has better action and plays lighter. Electronics great on both. Have had 3 guitars custom made and have purchased an assortment of other manufactured guitars, I'm happy with both of these and I suspect for the price, you would be also. ... show more

neck is very playable and great for small hands. the grand auditorium shape is more beautiful than dreadnought. with a solid top, it's acoustically better sounding guitar than my more expensive taylors and martins of the same size, but it doesn't come with a case.

After a lot of research and and reading a lot a reviews my Wife decided to surprise me and ordered this guitar online. What can I say she loves me and wanted to surprise me. We got a box that looked like it had been kicked around by Godzilla. The guitar itself was not damaged but brings me to my point. I'm so dissapointed with this it's not funny. It buzzes on so many notes it will drive anyone crazy. Now my wife ordered it online. I know not what I would do but bless her heart she tried. I've been playing for 30 years and know it will take a lot of work to set it up and get it to sound half decent. Don't buy one of these online without playing it. Now I'm stuck with a 800 dollar buzz box and a sad wife. Thanks. ... show more
