This vise is not intended for heavy loads or any impact work. There is a lot of slop when tightened down, but works well for holding light metal for soldering.

Been using for a little while now for holding locks for picking practice and with soldering in combination with a helping hands. Feels solid, heavy. I don't imagine me breaking this given the things I use it for, so hopefully will last some time. I do, however, wish that the jaws articulated a bit more. Where I have it set up now makes it a bit rough to angle the locks correctly when picking. Other than that its a good little vise. Worth the price. ... show more

It’s exactly as advertised, it holds fast to my desk, swivels the head nicely and all the parts that move clamp down well. There’s no stop on the back vise part, but I’m using for mostly small items so it’s no issue. Overall, a quality item for the price.

My elation at receiving a box with German information was quickly dashed as I opened the box and noted that the quality was NOT German, but basic Chinese. The general quality is LOW, but functional, except for the paper thin plastic knob securing the entire device to a table. Poor. It needs to be a T connection, that can do the job correctly, because pf the plastic knob will break with the slightest demand on it.. I've had better for the same price. Will try to work with it until it fails, then buy a better unit...for virtually the same price. ... show more
