  • Decent wheel, needs stand, slight bump in engine
I am a novice potter and this is my first wheel. Compared to studio wheels this is much smaller and the engine has a slight 'bump' with each rotation - it doesn't seem to affect the spin it's more something you feel so not a huge negative. Looks like a smooth rotation in use however. It needs a stand or platform to go on that's about 6-10 inches so most people won't have that. Impossible to put on the ground unless you have incredible hip flexibility to operate the foot pedal. Does not go down to very slow speeds but otherwise the pedal is responsive. The slowest speed is still pretty fast, wish it actually slowed down enough to smack clay into center/tap center pieces. Some labelling issues that are just dumb translation errors like 'open and closed' vs 'off and on' from chinese to english. We will see about durability. ... show more

  • Good. Slides away on hardwood, very low to the ground.
My girl is able to work on it from home instead of going into the studio, so yes it's great. Only downside is it's very low to the ground, which could be hard on the back and she said it slides away, so we might need some velcro or put it in a corner. Overall does it's job. I can't tell you longevity. Clean after every use and I imagine it'll last. ... show more

  • looks great but the peddle cord is too short
I'd happily pay $10 more for an extra foot of cord. I was hoping to put it on my bench top and use it from there. I guess I can just avoid the peddle but come on $0.10 of extra cord and I'd be fine I HATE this cheap nonsense of putting extra short cords on things to cut costs. It's one thing with the power cord because you can use extensions so it's mostly annoying. This would involve tearing it apart and rewiring. The machine looks like a good value and I can use the foot peddle with my hand as a variable switch but it's a foot peddle people. I swear power cords are like gold in China and they hate including one more inch than they have to. ... show more

  • Perfect
Purchased for my daughter and when it arrived she immediately set it up and began molding a clay pot. She was very impressed by the sturdiness and the speed of the wheel. She was able to speed it up and or slow it down with the use of the footpedal. She is very very happy and recommends this product anybody who is a start up like her ... show more

  • Quality buy for the the price!
I’m very new to throwing but I love this pottery wheel. It’s definitely worth the money but my only complaint is that I wish the plate would unattached from the base ( I don’t know if that’s even possible). I just think it would make cleaning it so much easier especially after you’ve finished a piece. ... show more

  • It's good
Naturally, it doesn't have the plates to go on the spinning table. But the 350 watt motor delivers pretty good. It spins a little more slowly than the same looking model with the 250 watt motor does but it has more torque, meaning it doesn't get bogged down as easily. The pedal is very responsive. It would also benefit from having a base to put it on. I'll probably make a base similar to what I saw on YouTube. If it had plates I'd give it 5 stars. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
It is decent for what it is. It is very cheap so you get what you pay for. It’s very difficult to center 4.5+ lbs. more concerning however is that there was an electric pulse running through the water basin on mine when I was using it. I was zapped 2-3 times before I figure out what it was. So I would definitely recommend keeping any water level very low. ... show more

  • No bat pins
The ONLY reason I gave it a 4 is because it did not have any bat pins (didn't realize this when I purchased), but it works great and fairly easy to clean despite not being able to remove basin. Very happy with my purchase!
