These cameras work great. Clear video and stills. Easy set up with app. Love the way they scan the areafor motion. Night vision works. Got these to watch our chickens. Four raccoons came to "visit". Let's just say they won't be back. Going to get more for around our house.

    • Good budget-friendly SD cameras with optional cloud storage options

These are satisfactory entry-level cameras that hold a charge for a reasonable time. We already had two expensive outdoor cameras and were looking for a more budget-friendly option to cover two low-traffic blind spots. For starters, do buy a name-brand "high endurance" SD card, such as Lexar or SanDisk, with a class 10 rating. The SD card video option frees us from paying monthly hosting fees, though that service is offered. As a bonus, we can view footage from a smartphone app. This is a hard-to-find combination. The apps are OK and could use some improvement – for example, I have not been unsuccessful at viewing our cameras from multiple devices, plus the Google Android app is not as buggy as the iOS version, which is fine with me because we use both platforms. If you register your camera(s) on the company's website, they currently offer perks for incentivized reviews. This is a common practice that I'm not a fan of (my review is not incentivized). That said, when one camera failed after a month or two, I contacted the seller and they responded promptly by dispatching a replacement. We shall see how the cameras hold up in the long run. If another camera fails, we will replace it with a pricey version that works with the name-brand system we've already invested in (which is not perfect, either). XVIM! Wow! Finally a surveillance company on the internet that understands integrity and customer service at an extremely and entirely reasonable/affordable price? No way!! Check this out: Yes folks. XVIM is absolutely on their way to the top. Bet on it. And read on if you’d like to understand why and are exhausted from your current camera search results: Now, I don’t normally take the time to do this, ever, but, I am SO overly pleased and happy with XVIM that when I was asked about possibly providing a thoughtful and honest review or at least some sort of feedback, well I felt obligated to oblige. Like, understand it would be wrong and go against everything we stand for in this country if I was to remain silent. Just the facts. Because companies like this deserve as much attention and spotlight as they can get. They really do. Wouldn’t you agree? Because the truth is that your honest opinion or review may be what drives their success or failure. And to a degree it really should. How many times have I dodged a bullet because someone warned me in a review??? Countless if you’re like me. But that’s what business is all about and these guys get that. All the way. It does indeed matter. But, I digress. Spotlight.. Attention.. yes. But especially when they are doing their absolute best each day to meet a need or a want that we may have? Again, yes. Better security and monitoring was my own personal need and motivator here but after my ENTIRE experience with XVIM, here are my final thoughts: Not only do they sell and promote fantastic products that just look and feel like phenomenal quality, but they’re also actively seeking out YOUR personal satisfaction and well being? Yes. They actually care about YOUR happiness and aren’t afraid to let you know. Now do they constructively receive critiques or criticism about their products and services and have a desire to grow and become even better? Yes. And how many companies nowadays care more about their bottom line than the people they should be serving? Too many. WAY too many. Now, the app. HoMeYe. Extremely easy to use and ridiculously user friendly. Like SO EASY. I personally use an iPhone and so it was like this: connect to your local WiFi, scan the QR code, watch and follow the instructions/prompts, connection and success. Less than 5 min. If that, to connect. Mounting of course takes a few minutes longer when you throw the solar panel into the mix but it’s still very straight forward and easy with a drill. Now, go play with your new toy/s?? Lol. :) So. Especially for a non tech-y guy like myself, the process could not have been more streamlined, simple, and straightforward. Option to subscribe to unlimited cloud storage or use micro SD up to 128gb? Yes. Nice. And I love the no pressure attitude to hurry up and subscribe as well as the free month of cloud storage included with purchase. Also nice. All features as advertised and operate accordingly? Yes. Great seller, great communication, great prices and promos occasionally. And folks if I’m wrong here feel free to critique me or severely light me up but, this has been my own personal and overall experience with XVIM so far. Extremely positive. Finishing my opinion, this is hands down the best value and the best ‘bang for your buck’ that you’re going to find probably anywhere. Not even on Temu or the like. And it just is what it is on that. And all that by supposedly ‘reputable’ companies out there…? Yeah right. Nope. Not today. ‘Oh there’s a great camera for $20 on Temu? Oh wait it doesn’t have WiFi. Or it’s not HD. Or it doesn’t do this or do that. Always missing a feature unless you spend $70-$80. For one single camera that looks infinitely cheap, comparatively speaking of course. But you get me. Right?
