I was trying to figure out what scan tool to purchase for a 2016 Lexus and 2023 Toyota. I contacted Xtool customer support for information and to my surprise they responded quickly. After asking me what make/model vehicles I would be working on they recommended the IP819TP. It has Bluetooth, Android 10, quad 1.6ghz processor. It comes with 32 GB of storage but it can get used quickly if you download all of the updates and use some of the included apps. I contacted Xtool again and asked how to free up memory without hurting the scanner. They sent me step by step instructions. Kudos to the customer service!!! Basically only choose the updates you think you will need for your specific Manufacturers. Example there are European or Chinese brand automobiles that I will never work on so I ignored those updates. The scanner does have several features and diagnostic capabilities. I tried it on a 2023 Camry Hybrid and it was amazing how much data you can look at. Even battery cell voltage can be monitored or recorded. The TPMS works well without the need of any other tools. It can report the battery condition of each sensor, the frequency of the sensor, obviously the tire pressure and even the temperature of the tire. The electronic parking brakes can be retracted for pad replacements. It can reset any trouble codes. The speed of the scan tool is very good. I tried it on an older 1996 Chevrolet and it could read all the engine parameters and trouble codes without any issues, but as expected ABS bleeding and other 1996 specific controls are not supported. Overall I am pretty impressed by this unit, the Bluetooth works flawlessly and you can plug the included cable into the Bluetooth dongle and the scan tool to power the tool off the car battery if needed. But for normal service repair the 5000mAh internal battery seems to hold a charge for a while without draining too quickly. If you have a garage and service a lot of vehicles the battery capacity may be too small but that's when the cable can come in handy. Overall I am very happy with this scan tool. Improvements that would be great would be 64gb of memory, a larger capacity battery and maybe the 8" screen from the D8BT. Having said that these added features would obviously increase the price. This IP819TP is hard to beat for $650 less the $200 coupon offering. ... show more

I've always bought lower end scanners when needed and decided to give a try to something a little bit better. I've done some research and compared products and brands, and ultimately bought this product. To say I am happy with the purchase is an understatement. I'm very happy with it. It works well, updates often, and gives a lot of options and live data. The quality is great, love the added benefit of Bluetooth and a wired connection if needed, and like the added benefit of this product for the tpms sensors for the tires. Well worth the price. If I can make one suggestion, it'd be to throw in at least one screen protector. Could be glass or plastic, but something. As stated, the device updates often. It came with a multi-year free updates when purchased, and it'll continue to work even after the free subscription runs out. You're not forced to keep a live subscription to keep using the device (which is a HUGE plus). Customer service has been great so far. Well worth it. Highly recommended. ... show more

Initially I was shopping multiple scanners and I simply asked a question and the response from X-Tool was almost immediate. The persons name was Evy. We communicated back & forth for several weeks over which model of scanner I wanted. There was no pressure on buying and the communication was friendly and helpful. Honestly, this type of customer service is what ultimately lead me to purchase the IP819TP & I couldn't be happier with it. It's a quality item and does everything I need including formatted reports of any vehicle scans performed. (Very nice for customers who want to know their vehicles current OBD status).     • Good little hand held, better than most
This little computer works pretty well in the speed and ease of use department but lacks in the interface and comprehension of features department. Did everything I needed it to do and a little more, but I believe the monitoring software needs to be cleaned up making it better would have earned a 5 star rating from me. I have cheaper computers that have the same lack luster polish of the monitoring pages. Update: attempted to get some technical support from Xtool for a feature that was not working, or at least it seemed to be not working. I was redirected back to Amazon for support, Howe this ended up in Amazon asking me if their support service was able to help me. I do not believe I have to explain this because it is what is typically called the run around. Needless to say I got things ironed out, but with myself being the only support I got. I would not expect too much assistance from the manufacturer for use of this tool, and a manual explaining how each special feature is used forget it. ... show more

Have done vehicle code scanning to live data to TPMS jobs nicely. 4 stars instead of 5 since the battery life is pretty terrible for a tool like this. This unit is almost twice as thick as an average tablet but the battery must be rather small. So far seems pretty rugged as well.

Don’t buy this product, there are so many products with same price and they do everything. Don’t be surprised when you see so many functions than nothing working.

    • Awesome scan tool
I've been a technician for 30 years and until just recently did I discover XTool scan tools. I absolutely love mine I can read codes, clear them and program key fobs, tpms sensors and also run bidirectional test. Love it I'll be upgrading to the most expensive one soon hopefully lol
