Our family room set up does not allow for enough space for side tables near the chairs we sit in most often. The arms of the chairs are thick and rounded so trying to balance a plate or a drink usually ends in disaster. These trays are a godsend. They are attractive and sturdy and have a strong enough grip to handle mugs of coffee and glasses of wine with confidence. I was happy when I finally completed all the paperwork to get it out of customs and received it here in Costa Rica but it broke as as soon as I opened the legs one of them snapped off. The screws are there to hold the spring not the legs to the tray, that is held by staples. I bought crazy glue and fixed it. We got these for our couch to try instead of side tables, which we didn't have space for. These have been working great, even though our leather couch has slightly angled arm rests. We also like that they are made of sustainable bamboo and the color works well with many decor schemes. When we don't want to use them they nicely fold flat. I though this would hang over one side or the other but .. nay nay … she sits right on the arm rest in the center. It is NOT intrusive or flimsy, the clip underneath holds it nice and tight. I use mine for adult beverages (wink) but any beverage works just fine. The coaster that is included works good too! There is even more room to hold a book your reading or a small plate with a snack. We got to use twice, and originally liked it but not stable enough. Slipped off our couch and fell maybe 2 feet and two of the siding completely broke off, one knocked loose. Not worth it for the money.
