Description

Uretic has achieved extraordinary results in tens of thousands through multiple generations for over thirty years. It was created by Dr. Wysong and owes its popularity solely to veterinary recommendation and word of mouth. By targeting wellness, immune and urinary systems, Uretic has proven itself as a diet that creates robust vitality. This improved formulation is designed to take advantage of new processing methods to preserve natural value, and nutritional advances related to epigenetics and nutrigenomics. Uretic now contains higher levels of fresh/frozen and dried meats and organs, protein, and fat, and a comprehensive spectrum and higher levels of micronutrients/nutraceuticals including prebiotics, probiotics, enzymes, omega-3s, antioxidants and more. Excess minerals are eliminated, natural sourced, urinary-important methionine are added, and small quantities of fruits and vegetables mimic what may be consumed in the viscera of prey, and contribute important vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients.

  • Very happy
We switched to this food after iams urinary became difficult to find. I couldn't be happier. My male cat who is very sensitive to food has done very well on this food with no urinary issues. They are also losing some weight ( which is a good thing). They are both getting leaner and more muscular. Is it their favorite food...no probably not, but they will eat it. It looks to be very healthy with an excellent list of ingredients (much better than iams). The price point is fair for the quality of food. We plan to remain customers for the future. ... show more

  • It's cat food...
It smells like cat food going in the mouth end of the cat, and smells like s... coming out the other end. Really, the reason we bought this is because we have a kitty who's lucky to be alive after getting two urinary blockages in a row. There were cheaper means to resolve the issue, but he's young so we elected the one that was compatible with continued purring, and then the vet said he should be on expensive Rx food for the rest of his life. The Rx food we tried gave all our cats horrible diarrhea, however, and after many nights waking up to wash the runs out of their tailfeathers, it was time for a change. The Wysong Uretic food has better ingredients, doesn't upset their digestive systems, and so far we've had no recurrences of the urinary blockages that started this whole journey. So, that's a win. It still smells like poo coming out the tail end of the feline, and at least one of our cats seems to fart a LOT on this food, but we have tootsie rolls in the cat box instead of cat pies. ... show more

  • Great food minus the Peas
My cats like the food but it won’t be a permanent food for them because of the pea content. Peas need to stop being used so much in grain free formulas for pets … The lectins in the peas harm your pets gut! In small amounts it won’t, but all these foods have a content too high and of a type of pea that’s not even a green pea…. It’s crappier with less nutrients. “Lectins are sugar-binding proteins that act as natural insecticides and fungicides to protect plants from predators. Lectins are sticky molecules, enabling them to effectively bind to their sugars. The problem is that this stickiness can also cause lectins to bind onto the lining of the small intestine. This can cause damage to the intestinal lining, including disruption of the intestinal villi, resulting in a decreased ability to absorb nutrients. Lectin can also harm the gut microflora, the trillions of beneficial bacteria that live inside the mucosal tissue lining of the gut, resulting in leaky gut syndrome (Sisson, 2013).” – CanineNutrigenomics, 2015 ... show more

  • My disabled cats do great with this food
I originally bought this food for my ferrets. The 3 of them are so picky and love to eat the cats food which is grain free wilderness from Blue. I decided to see if my boys Ash and Finn would eat it since it is cat food and it seems to have a good list of ingredients. Ash and Finn are disabled cats and have spinal and leg deformities which does a number on their digestive tract and bladder. I have to express them both or they don’t empty out at all. Tough job, but they are troopers and have a happy fun life of camping, hiking and home cuddles. Well Ash is more severe in his disabilities and I’m always trying to keep his system going smoothly. His usual food did a good job keeping his tummy full and happy but lacked in the healthy pooping department. Sorry, but diaper cats ya gotta deal with poop. LoL. Especially a cat with mega-colon. No fun. Since Ash started nibbling on this Uretic from Wysong he has been having no struggles to poop. His fur is looking shiny and he just seems more comfortable. I’m very impressed with the quality of this food. It’s about the same as what I pay for any other cat food, so cost is what you’d expect for quality cat food. I’m so glad my fur babies love this food. Keep in an airtight container so the smell remains enticing. ... show more

  • Roll the Dice…
I have two Ragdolls. The one had a real bad issue with bladder stones and required prescription food to resolve. Fortunately, Royal Canin Urinary SO resolved the issue without her requiring surgery. Now, I’m feeding that to both of my cats and it’s terrible regarding quality. I hate the fact that I have to pay more for a lesser quality food to solve the stones issue at the risk of causing other long-term health issues from a poor diet. So, I gave this stuff a shot. It looked promising at checking all the boxes. High quality ingredients, no junk fillers, probiotics, and helps prevent UT issues. So here’s the good… Both cats loved loved loved the taste. They gobbled it up like it was their favorite treat. I recently moved, which really stressed my one male kitty causing bad diarrhea. This food solved the issue within two days. The pre and probiotics clearly made a difference in GI health. Now for the bad… While solving the issue of diarrhea, it caused the same cat to severely vomit. My other cat had no issues at all. Just giving a small handful of the food had the same results…within 10 minutes, a huge pile of vomit. I experimented over a period of two weeks and it ended badly every single time. Remove the food back to diarrhea, feed them the food and vomit…a no win situation. I noticed others have posted that same issue on here with the vomit, while others have had a great experience. So the question is…what ingredient is causing such a reaction? Apparently there’s something in there that a lot of cats, not all, are really sensitive to. I sure hope the manufacturer looks into this and resolves it. So, back to Royal Canin and a separate Pre/Probiotic supplement, which completely solved the diarrhea issue. ... show more
