Description

This Wuhan Cymbal Package includes the Western Style 14 Hi Hats, 16 Crash, and 20 Ride. Wuhan cymbals don't presume to challenge the sound quality, variety, and reputation of the fine professional-level cymbals on today's market. Wuhan cymbals instead give you quality with a price that won't empty your wallet. Generally, affordable cymbals are made of less-expensive sheet alloys, using short-cut manufacturing methods and finishing steps in order to keep the cost down. And with the resulting cymbals you pretty much get what you pay for. Wuhan cymbals are made of high-quality cast B20 alloy. They're handcrafted in China according to two-thousand-year-old traditional methods. They're buffed to a brilliant finish, and stamped with an unobtrusive but attractive logo.

  • Excellent quality for the price
I've been playing drums for 28 years. I've played on countless brands of cymbals, worked at many drum stores, set up clinics for many famous drummers, and I have to say that for the money, these are the best I've ever seen, PERIOD. I have no clue how they can sell these cymbals for so cheap and produce the sound they do, but I'm extremely grateful. Let's break down the sounds. 14" Hats: Very crisp and clean. Stick articulation is very clear and concise. Don't sound too "tin-ish"...very clear and the hand hammered quality of the cymbals give them a unique sound. 16" Crash: Where do I begin?? Nice and thin...very good wash. Slightly trashy, but clean enough to ride on if you play jazz. Very deep sound for the size. Almost sounds like a dark 18" or 20" crash/ride. Unreal. 20" Ride: I have the Medium Heavy ride, not the Medium, but I can say that the ride is very clear, not very pingy. A little on the high end but enough darker tones to pass for most genres of music. Very distinct bell sound. Crashes fairly well. Overall, the cymbals sound amazing. You can't beat the price with a stick, but you can beat the cymbals. That was cheesy...sue me. ... show more

  • Bargain
had a cheap set from a name brand and they sounded ok for the price but were the weak link in my kit. Bought these to compare, they were a bit more expensive but not much, thinking I can return them if they sound bad. Returned the name brand. These have a real acoustic quality that the cheap name brand cymbals lacked. People talk about the hand hammering and alloy composition I don’t know what the reason is but I highly recommend trying these. I’m a beginner but I wouldn’t be surprised if these last me a very long time. The more I play them the more I like the sounds, the hi hat especially has lots of dynamic variation depending on where and how you hit it. The crash i’m still getting used to, it is LOUD compared to the name brand and I need a light touch on it. A bit trashy which is growing on me. The ride is ace and worth the price of the whole set in my opinion ... show more

  • Great for the Money!
Hi-Hats: Crisp, Bright, Clear. Very versatile. Think Sabian AAX. Crash: Dark, Washy, Incredibly unique. Great as an accent crash. Ride (Medium/Heavy): Pingy- think rock ride. Doesn't crash well but very good for cutting through a mix. Overall, for the money you can't beat this. I bought these as a practice set and they're perfect for that but the hats could easily be used for recordings and certain live settings. Would suggest listening to some sound demos on youtube, but even then no cymbal sounds the same. If you're a beginner, these are such a steal. even if you're advanced, they are a good set to have in your arsenal. ... show more

  • At first, I was a little disappointed in these, then WOW
I decided to roll the dice on these as I needed a spare pair of cymbals to leave behind when one of my drums sets is left at a venue. Out of the box, I was a little disappointed in these. They look nice, but I wasn't thrilled with the sound. The Ride had a bit too much wash and the hi-hats sounded a shade tinny. The 16" crash seemed pretty decent. All in all i figured they'd be a serviceable spare set for home, but I wasn't blown away by them. For reference, these are intended to play second-fiddle to a 20" K Custom Dry Ride, a 16" K Custom Dark Crash, and 14" New beats. I was not expecting them to be the same quality. Fast forward to the end of the weekend I got them, and I was heading to a practice with my Blues Trio. I decided to bring these along instead of the good stuff in hopes that they'll mellow if I use them a bunch. Got these all set up, and once the bass started playing and I started jamming along, these things *really* started to shine. All 3 of these voices have some suspect overtones when played alone in a room, but in the mix with a band I was blown away at how fun they were to play. Hi-Hats - nice sizzle when slightly open, good stick articulation while closed (I play hi-hat rolls a lot, and these handled just fine Ride - With some strategically placed tape on the underside to kill a bit of the wash, the ride sounded great. the bell could use a bit more definition Crash - OMFG. This crash is going to find its way into my main cymbal setup. beautifully trashy, lower pitch, complex. quick decay. when you roll with mallets, this cymbal has a gong-ish swell that would be worth it at 5x the price. If you have this crash and haven't rolled it with mallets yet, you're missing out. In summary- buy these if you need a spare pair or if you just want an inexpensive cymbal set. give them a shot when you play with your band, i bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. ... show more

  • Excellent and worthwhile upgrade for beginner drum kits that come with crappy cymbals.
I am a life long guitar player, I've decided to give drums a go. Always wanted to do it, so now that I can afford these indulgences I recently bought a Pearl Roadshow Kit. Its a great kit for the money but the included hi-hats and crash/ride are terrible. I'm new at this and even I know what crap sounds like. I read about these Wuhan's and they're supposed to be a bargain at twice the price, so I said WTF and pulled the trigger. FWIW as a newb, I'm impressed. They definitely sound a lot better then the cheap ones that came with the kit. I plan to stick this drum thing out for a while so It was a worthwhile upgrade. I knew I had a winner as soon I hit that 16" crash hard and my wife went bezerk. LMAO! Two Thumbs up just for that. I have pads on everything so it's all good. The hi-hats and ride cymbal fit on the stands I had. I only needed to spend an extra 35 bucks for a Pearl CH-70 Boom Cymbal Holder to accommodate the 16" crash. It clamps nicely to my hit hat stand. Speaking of Hi-Hats my only gripe, and its minor, is they are not labeled top and bottom. Not to worry, Internet to the rescue. Heavy one goes on the bottom. ... show more
