Description

Expanding from the Byzance Extra Dry line, Byzance Dual cymbals have quickly risen in popularity and have become instantly recognizable for their stunning look and sound. To start, the center is raw, bearing hand hammered markings, while the edge is lathed and buffed to a brilliant finish. The sound is just like the look — trashy, earthy and low at first, ending with a flash of explosive shimmer. The underside of all splashes, crashes, trash crashes, hihats and chinas are fully lathed for a flexible feel and smooth finish, while the underside of the crash-rides mirror the same finish as the top for added clarity. These cymbals are made in Turkey from cast B20 bronze and are hand hammered into shape by skilled Turkish cymbal smiths.

  • Perfect
Color: B15EDMTH
Love these hats. Was lucky enough to get a crazy discount on a scratch and dent pair from the Amazon Warehouse. I was worried the price was so low because the damage to the cymbal was severe, however on arrival the only "dent" is a slightly bent edge that I easily smoothed out - other than that these cymbals were in perfect condition. These hats are dry and deep, and they can span over many musical styles. I love the Meinl Extra Dry series, and these hats compliment any set I've put them on. Although I purchased the pair with the scratch and dent discount, I would happily pay the full cost if that option had not been available. Worth it for any serious drummer needing a pair of hi hats that can transition from style to style, loud to soft, without any hesitation. ... show more

  • Liked these, but expensive for what you get
Color: B15EDMTH
Purchased these 15's as my first meinl cymbal purchase. And I like them for sure. lots of miss. Very dry, not a lot of wash, and easier to mix. Wanted the 15 (vs 14's) to get a bit more depth. In the end, i liked these hats. BUT, I had purchased some ZIldjian custom dry (14's) at same time---really expecting to prefer the menials. End of the day---though the meals have a distinct should that check a lot of boxes for me, I found the Zildjian custom dry to be even better (and got a demo set for 300 as opposed to the 560,.00 i got the meinls for. The custom dry Zildjian sound even deeper--though they are only 14's--and just much more rich and full. I do like the meinl sound--and just bought two dual trash crash in different sizes. but encourage folks that want the same dry/low wash sound to check out the custom dry before final purchase on the meinl. Cymbals are very much personal preference of course---but i think zildjians win the fight on the dry sound in this case due to the fuller, richer sound while maintaining the dry. my two cents. ... show more

  • This cymbal has a suprisingly low volume and chick sound. The quality and sound is great.
Color: B15JTH
Byzance produces quality sounding cymbals and these aren't any exceptions. Extremely light weight and suprisingly low volume for the size. The 'chick sound' isnt as pronounced as you would hope, coming from a pair of 15 inch hi hats. These cymbals are not ideal for loud venue gigs or shows, but they work perfectly in low volume settings. The hi hat top has an amazing crash sound. If disappointed with the hi hat sound collectively, you can use the hi hat top as a crash cymbal. ... show more

These are the best hi hats I’ve ever played. I’ve played zildjian K’s and K Customs for a long time and the Meinl are the complete package. Beautiful cymbals. Expensive but worth the money.
