  • Nearly A Perfect Fidget
Number of Items: 1 Style: Black
There are lots of different sorts of fidgets out there. I am formally ADHD-diagnosed, and for various reasons medication doesn't work for me, so I need to help my chronically understimulated bring with environmental accommodations. Enter the fidget. I've used a lot of them over the years, and what I like about this one is that it gives you a lot of different ways to fidget in a single package that fits into a pocket much better than the Fidget Cube, from which it clearly takes inspiration. Below is my personal opinion on each component of this fidget, using the names of each component as advertised. JOYSTICK One of the best aspects of this fidget. Satisfying to thumb around while being completely silent so as to avoid disturbing others if you're around them. Also gives a gentle sound when pressed down that is a quieter click than any other clicker on this fidget, which is good to have in certain situations. BUTTONS These four buttons are, I think, all intended to do the same thing. Press and click. Having four lets your thumb migrate around a bit while still getting the satisfying click of a pen topper, which is nice. One of my buttons, however, fails to make noise half the time. I assume this is a small defect with mine in particular, but it doesn't really bother me, I just don't use that one. ROTARY DIAL This is the most useless part of the fidget and I wish it wasn't there. The dial has too much friction and barely wants to turn, and even when it does turn, the joystick allows the same exact thumb movement and more, so I don't see the purpose of this dial. If I were designing this fidget, I'd have taken out the dial and replaced it with a smooth "worry stone" style divot, as that is a commonly-desired sensory experience that this fidget lacks. SWITCH Nice and heavy with a good feel. The switch also has a slightly concave center that, while not as satisfying as a true worry stone divot, will do in a pinch. ROLLER This is a good one if you want to occupy both your hands, say during a conversation. It's smooth and quiet. I've found it is most satisfying to hold the fidget in one hand and move the roller up and down the edge of a finger. SCROLL Basically the roller again, but with some ratchety clicking friction and meant for one handed use. It's enough of a variation that it doesn't feel redundant, but I didn't personally use this one much. PICK Hands down my favorite element of this fidget. Makes the most satisfying sound on this fidget and the spring is just tense enough to provide a delightful sensory element and just weak enough that it's not a strain on your thumb. I use this one more than all of the others but the joystick combined. There's also a textured patch that the product doesn't advertise with a name, but you can see it on the side of the joystick end. Nice enough for what it is but I wish the textured bumps were a bit larger in diameter and slightly smoother. It's the one I use the least aside from the rotary dial. And that's this fidget! There's no such thing as a truly one-size-fits-all fidget, but this is about as close as you'll ever get. I used to have three or four fidgets in my bag at all times that I would use depending on what sensory input I felt I needed. Now I just throw this one in my pocket every morning and I've always got what I need right at hand. That said, I can think of two major downsides. 1. A common sensory experience that this fidget does not accommodate is the "spin" experience. There's no free-spinning ring you can flick and let spin down, nor is there any element like a fidget spinner built in. So if you are a person who needs that spin in your life, this fidget won't provide that. 2. No real textural experience to this one. It makes a token nod to the texture junkies by having the patch of raised bumps, and the joystick is coated in a rubber that is slightly different in texture from the hard plastic of the rest of it. But if you need texture variance in your fidgets, look elsewhere. There are a few small things I'd tweak but overall this is an excellent option, especially if you're just getting into the world of fidgets and looking for a good place to start. Hope this review helps you make your decision! ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs
Number of Items: 1 Style: Original Version
The media could not be loaded. This gadget has so much to offer. First of all, its shape. It fits in a pocket comfortably, not like the bulky cubes. It also fits very comfortably in my hands. I have very short fingers and small hands and this fits perfect, not like the cubes. I can actually fidget with it with one hand only. I need both hands many times for the cube-shaped one I have. So this is a major improvement for me in that sense. When it comes to the different options, this is a winner over cubes. Cubes only offer up to 6 different ways of using it because that's as many sides a cube has, whereas this one has been maximized exponentially. It has four buttons if you like to click like you would a pen, which is my favorite thing to do. I was always carrying pens that I could click. Pens are more uncomfortable to carry with you. So this solves that. It comes with two clicking buttons (yellow and red) and two silent ones (green and blue.) Silent buttons don't cut it for me. They offer no resistance at all and they don't make any sound. For me, it has to be a combination of both. I need the clicking sound and the resistance. Otherwise, it just feels like pushing a broken button. I never cared for silent buttons like these two. But the other two buttons are my favorites in this gadget. My other favorite is the spinner. It really likes smoothly and fast and long. The only thing that's lacking for me is color. I like the visual aspects of spinners when they have colors or lines. But this one is completely black. So I don't get the visual stimulus I can get from other spinners that have colors, as well. Nevertheless, I truly like it and I also like to rotate it with my finger apart from spinning it. I think I forgot to show that in my video. It has like a joystick of sorts. That can also be pleasing. I also enjoy the switch, something that my cube also has. Once again, it's both the movement and the clicking sounds for me. The area between the switch and the spinner is a bit smoother than the rest of the gadget. I like running my finger tip on it for a soothing and calming movement without sounds. Now that's better for me than two silent clicking buttons than don't actually click. There are also a couple of rotating thingies in the narrower area if the toy. Both if them offer some texture. One rotates easily, even spins. I find the other one a pain to rotate. Too bad because I like the sound it makes. But I don't know if it's supposed to be that hard to rotate or mine might have come defective. I find myself having to hold the toy with both hands to be able to rotate that one double spinner (not sure how to call it.) There's also some textured surface near the tip that springs back when you plug and release. That can also be soothing and pleasant for some people. I don't use it as much. I like the tip that you pull and release, too. Reminds me of a similar mechanism in some pens and markers. I couldn't care less for the lanyard. It was not easy to loop it and it tends to come off. I could do without it. But that's my personal preference. It can be useful to hang it from a purse, backpack, bag, keychain, your belt, or even from your wrist. But that's not my preference. I saw in the description that it can help prevent biting nails. I don't see how that's possible. There are two individuals at home who bite their nails and they both agreed that it doesn't make for it. They bite their nails because they need a different sensory input that cannot be provided by this gadget. In my opinion, they should not make any references to nail biting when trying to sell this item. It can be misleading. If you need to bite your nails, you'll be better off with a chewing toy like the ones sold by Ark Therapeutic (you can also find them here in Amazon.) I gave it 4 stars because of how difficult it is for me to turn that one rotating thingy, for the lanyard, and the silent buttons. But I bought a second one just in case thus one gets lost or breaks, especially because it was down to $7 from $24. I would not pay over $10 for fidgeting toys. But this one seems very sturdy. That might be another reason for the price to be so high at some point. Summarizing, if you are autistic, need sensory toys, or both, this could do it for you. I recommend it. ... show more

  • Feels cheap
Number of Items: 1 Style: Original Version
While this product doesn't feel that sturdy, it's become one of my favorite stim toys. It has rollers on the sides with different textures to how it feels, there's a slide switch that springs up of you pull it down and makes a nice clicking noise. There's two quiet buttons and two buttons that make clicking sounds, I think the worst thing on this is the analog stick as it sits relatively deep into it's spot and is hard to move around in my opinion. Comes with a nice wrist strap so you can just dangle it off your wrist, I'd just be careful about hitting it on anything as the plastic does feel ... fragile. ... show more

  • Not bad for the price
Number of Items: 1 Style: Original Version
I bought this because it was small and flat so I felt this fidget toy would be easy to carry to work. Iโ€™m actually surprised because I thought it would be more cheaply-made. For what itโ€™s worth, itโ€™s not bad. The toy has a decent amount of options for something so small. Everything appears to work well except the roller option, which is not very smooth. ... show more

  • I broke it after 6 weeks but it's 3$ so it's fine
Number of Items: 1 Style: Black
The spring switch broke pretty quickly (4 weeks), and it's loud in a quiet room/office :|. Other than that, I got the colorful variations for my siblings for Christmas, and they used them till they broke too. The strap that came with it kinda sucks so I threw it in the junk drawer.

  • Excellent Variety
Number of Items: 1 Style: Original Version
Thereโ€™s so many things to do on this thing and itโ€™s amazing. The buttons and switches click well, joystick and spinner are smooth and quiet, and the design feels great to hold in your hand. Lots of options for both obnoxious noise and being quiet. Great product ๐Ÿ‘
