  • The WristWidget is AMAZING!
Color: Black
The orthopedic doctor recommended that I have this for carpel tunnel. I was hesitant at first because it's not the traditional design with braces that I was used to. I purchased it and was glad that I did. Why? Pretty much INSTANT relief. While not 100% instant relief, it was noticeable. After a few minutes, I had no pain in my wrist. I slept the entire night with it on and didn't wake up in the middle of the night feeling the carpel tunnel pain that I had been feeling for about 3 weeks prior. I have mentioned this to pretty much anyone I come into contact. The price is incredibly reasonable as well. Thank you to the creators of this amazing product. Teaching isn't painful any more (yes, I'm a teacher)! ... show more

  • Works great! But over priced
Color: Black
This is a great invention and works really well. I have flexibility and stability while I wear it and my pain is a lot less. But, it is way over priced for a piece of velcro that you could go to hobby lobby and make.

  • Great item, long time user.
Color: Tan
This Wrist Widget is a great item and makes a huge difference for my TFCC pain, as well as mild tendonitis in the wrist. A father of 3 little kids and former tennis league player, my wrist wore down and this thing, along with RICE and PT made a difference. The injury is now nears ago, but I’m on my 3rd wrist widget. Should it be $30 each? I don’t know. I like it a lot. My only gripe is that you can’t really clean this thing in a washing machine or sitting in a vinegar solution without wearing away the Velcro on the strap even quicker than it’s Velcro ages naturally from repetitive use and sweat. 3 years removed from my original injury, I’m wearing this a lot less but still put it on when I’m going to do something active like moving furniture and playing in my pickleball league. I started wrapping KT tape around my wrist (over Ulnar bone) with the wrist widget over it for even more support. Not sure if it’s overkill but doesn’t affect my game and I never need to ice afterwards. I really appreciate the small business owner/PT who invented this thing. Just wish the Velcro was maybe a little stronger or could be replaced cheaply once ever 6 months. Great product. ... show more

  • Effective enough, but not very comfortable
Color: Black
For context, I am male, early-thirties, fairly fit. My use of this device is to aid recovery and prevent injury during activity. As is characteristic of many support devices which actually work, the WristWidget does its job but isn't particularly comfortable to wear. The structure of my wrists is such that I have sustained TFCC injuries in the past. They are triggered during lifting, and exacerbating while hiking using poles. The WristWidget's design is targeted to avoid the specific issues many other wrist braces have - they are too soft to provide real support, or put pressure on the styloid. This brace avoids all of that. The velcro is strong, secure, and has very little flex, and you can feel the support it offers when undergoing heavy activity. Why three stars then? First, it's uncomfortable, and needlessly so. The hard edges of the velcro cut into the styloid (on the hand-side), and the material on the inside of the wrist is merely more velcro, albeit the loop side, not the hook. This could have been avoided through adding a layer of softer, padded material on the inside of the brace. If this was twenty dollars cheaper, the current design would be understandable, but for the price it is sold for, such a cost-saving measure is not really justifiable. Second, it is only partially effective. I have found it to be useful to wear so as to avoid further injury and to aid in recovery, but the pain is still there and it doesn't do much to relieve stress placed on the wrist. I suspect that such would not be possible, outside of using a hard brace, but I'm not sure. It definitely helps relieve the pain associate with pressing down with the palm, which makes it useful for avoiding those little shocks of pain TFCC injuries tend to produce - but it isn't quite as effective as they purport. If the gap was wider, and the bands slightly wider (probably), that might be better. They have a wide version, and I might need to try that one instead. Despite these two things, if you have TFCC issues, I would recommend trying it. It is certainly pricey for what it is, but it isn't pricey for what it does, assuming it works for you. ... show more

  • Allows me to keep playing golf
Color: Black
I'm not sure exactly how I injured my wrist, may have been from hitting the ground when it was still frozen or possibly overuse from a sim league, but I can't put weight on my wrist without pain. I took several weeks off from golf hoping it would help, but when my league started up my first swing hurt pretty bad. I was able to play out the round, but it didn't feel great. I knew if I asked my doctor about it they'd just tell me to stop playing, and I really didn't want to do that. I somehow stumbled upon this brace after trying out another that didn't work, and this took away about 90% of my pain during golf. The first swing still hurts worse than any other, but if I keep it tight throughout the round it feels ok. So far I've played two times with it and it worked very well. I've also been using a wrist gyro ball nightly to work on strengthening those muscles and it does actually seem to be helping. ... show more

  • This little guy was a lifesaver
Color: Black
I really messed up my wrist while lifting weights last spring. I bought this one and a larger brace that included a loop for the thumb which looked like it would be better. I was very surprised - the more "robust" wrist brace did almost nothing to help, but this little velcro loop did an amazing job keeping things in place until they healed permanently. It still took several weeks, but all I did was put this on at night so I didn't twist anything in my sleep and it eventually healed without any lasting pain or stiffness. I definitely recommend this brace! ... show more

  • Supportive but falls apart easily
Color: Black
Great for pain relief but Velcro attaches to all blankets and fabric which makes it look old. Also starts to smell a couple of weeks after wearing, but when you wash it the Velcro gets less sticky.
