I purchased this for Bubble Day for my 1st grade class. Several of my students found putting the shapes together was too diicult for them and gave up. However, those who stuck with it, greatly enjoyed putting together thr shapes and making their own bubble creations. I took a chance on this toy, but it ended up working pretty well. It's hard to see in the picture, but it works fairly well. It has enough pieces to build one of the more complex patterns or two of the smaller ones so that was a little hard with both my kids. My 6 year old could build independently but my 3 year old needed some help. It tells you to just mix together dish soap and water for it, which worked OK and was cheaper than a ton of bubble solution. You need too be able to submerge the shape completely, so you need a bucket or something like that so you won't have to make so much bubble mixture. We've used it a couple times and it seems like the pieces are holding up OK. ... show more

Maybe we need to try store bought bubbles because the bubble soap mixture just doesn't seem to provide the results from the instructions. We tried many different ways and while we did get some cool bubble shapes, it wasn't as straightfoward and easy as the instructions make it look. My daughter liked building the shapes and dipping them. You do need a big container to dip them in so it gets fully submerged. Blowing the bubbles into the shapes after was a bit more challenging. Overall I think we might do better using store bought bubbles instead of the dish soap mixture they tell you to make. It was fun for a little while but the kids haven't wanted to try it again yet. ... show more

This was fun and entertaining for my 8 year old daughter, husband and I. Playing indoors I would recommend a plastic tablecloth or paper plates or something you can wipe/toss easily... because well bubbles when done are a bit of a soapy sticky mess that will require a few rounds of water to wash up. We used the bubble fluid from the giant bubbles kit also sold by the same company. It keep us busy for more than 40 mins which is pretty good considering it was the end of a long day. Loved using this with our 8 and 10 year old daughters! Our girls really enjoyed being able to make their own shapes and see the bubbles come to life after! It was easy to use and entertained them for quite some time. Would definitely recommend for others.
