Description

Add more valuable bee pollinators to your garden with heavy duty large cedar Mason bee house. These professional-grade Mason bee houses have removable cedar trays for annual cleaning. They are called Mason bees because they work with mud to build & seal their nests. Mason bees are attracted to flowering plants, such as vegetables, fruit trees & bushes, flowering annuals, perennials & vine plants. Their work in the spring can determine the volume of fruit or vegetables that will be available to harvest. Mount to a post or wall ideally near a source of mud. For best results, use near flowering plants known to attract bees (bee Balm, black-eyed Susan, purple coneflower, etc.). The fiberboard nesting tubes should be replaced each Spring after Mason bees have emerged from their nests.

  • Broken and missing pieces- going back
I purchased a warehouse deal, and generally when it says “item will come repackaged”, that means the product is in decent shape. Not true this time. One cedar tray is broken, and two are completely missing. And I’ve tried to get the lid to close several times but clearly the dowel that came with it is not the one that originally came with the unit. I This one is at least half an inch too long. ... show more

  • Mason bees
The mason bee house looks sturdy and just right for mason bees. This is the first time we’ve tried to do this.

  • Poor quality, but the bees didn't care
I read the reviews, which said that there were splinters and rough spots in the construction. I didn't care and planned to sand it and then line it with parchment paper. That being said, the quality was lower than my low bar. In addition to the splinters, several of the trays had cracks in them which made it hard to put them back into the house. I took a picture of the worst one, where a knot in the wood broke off and the side had a crack in it. I can't remember if I cleaned the splinters off this tray or not. Anyhow, I gave this two stars because after my hard work, the bees are filling it up. It's made of real wood and I think it's cedar, so that's a plus too. ... show more

  • Poor construction, mediocre at best product.
I’m sure the product will work but the product is poorly made. I ordered two and one didn’t come with the top inset table sheet that closes off the last section. The wood fits very poorly and the channels do not close off on the back side like they’re supposed to. All in all, I’ll need to doctor them up. Looks like it’ll be mediocre in the rain. Would strongly recommend you look to this company’s competitor and give them your money instead. :) ... show more

  • Rotting Roof
Our bee barn was great until it rained, then the roof of it started to rot where the seam of the two board is connected. We will have to make a new roof.

  • Not recommend.
I would not describe this as "heavy duty". Hinge lid is flimsy. It only came with 2/3 of the trays shown in picture.
