It's super fun and looks amazing. It took hours to complete, about 5 days working a couple of hours at a time. The lighting adds a special touch. Out of 2500+ pieces, there was only one piece missing. It's not a problem because a similar color is extra in another bag.

This review is based on what I got done of this set. I somehow lost the instruction book partway thru, so I'm only reviewing what I got done. This is a decently large set, and at around $50 is not a bad deal. It has a lot of nice detail, and the instructions and bags are nicely organized. As this set uses mini blocks, it's not compatible with standard legos and figures, and as such functions more as a display piece. Unfortunately, the whole set seems to suffer from a lack of quality, both in missing pieces and the pieces themselves. With each bag I found I was short specific colored pieces it called for, but had extra of the same piece in different colors. I also found that a lot of the flat pieces are warped a bit. After finishing the steam area that goes on the side, despite all the pieces being fully nested together I almost couldn't connect it to the main area because it was bent and curved, and even with it connected it keeps trying to pop pieces off that connect them due to the strain of the curve. So overall, if you have patience and aren't a perfectionist, this is a good set, but otherwise you might want to pass it up. ... show more

The set was really good as far as design and look until we came across a piece that was really important. it looks like it was somehow cut in half. It took so long for us to do and now we can't really finish unless we have that one part. We are unsatisfied :(

This review is for INSOON Wood Cabin (Lakeside Cottage) Building Set with LED Lights, 2570 PCS, $43 on amazon. Disclaimer. I have not yet built this kit so my observations are pre-assembly. I cannot speak to how hard/easy the build is or whether you might have problems during the build, e.g. missing pieces or how tightly the pieces fit together. As the Amazon title states, these are mini building pieces, i.e. two stud brick is 12 mm wide as opposed to standard “Lego Style” two stud brick that is 16 mm wide. So ¾ size. The 2570 pieces arrive in seven large sealed bags: 2 bags numbered “1” 1 bag each numbered “2”, “3” and “4” 2 bags numbered “5” Each large sealed bag contains several smaller sealed bags. There is one unnumbered bag which contains the light set: One panel with the Mini USB socket, the receptacles for the 14 LED wires, and on/off push button switch Seven pairs of LED lights USB-A to Micro USB cable which provides the power to the 14 LED lights from USB 5 VDC source. Instruction manual pages 108, 109,115, 116, 149, 150, 160, 168 thru 170 provide light installation information. The instruction manual measures 9” X 11”, has 170 pages and 492 assembly steps. It is full color glossy and is, itself, a ‘work of art’. There are 32 different colors. The printed colors are shown on manual page ii. As is stated, since color differences are subtle, it is recommended that as each bag is opened the pieces be sorted by color and not by function. Pieces in bags #1 are used for assembly steps #1 thru #84, pages #2 thru #30 Pieces in bags #2 are used for assembly steps #85 thru #156, pages #32 thru #53 Pieces in bags #3 are used for assembly steps #157 thru #270, pages #55 thru #87 Pieces in bags #4 are used for assembly steps #271 thru #367, pages #89 thru #119 Pieces in bags #5 are used for assembly steps #368 thru #492, pages #121 thru #168 The manual is large enough that the assembly images a plenty large enough so you won’t need to squint to see which pieces go where. This appears to be an excellent set for $43. But again, I have not yet built it so these are my pre-assembly impressions. ... show more
