Two negatives: 1) You need to scrub or exfoliate your lips before use because the stain is darker on dry areas. 2) The spray that they give you to help with the peel part of the process works great, but it also makes the lipstain drip. Photo shows bare lips, one coat and then a second coat on my top lip. The color started off strong and while it doesn't transfer to things it gets patchy easily if your lips get the slightest bit damp. Also, if any of the purple gets in your mouth during removal it will stain your teeth all day.

I got the “lovely kit.” I normally wear a dark cranberry colored lip. I’ve used it 3 times and it doesn’t last on me. I left it on the recommended 45 seconds and it lasted about 2 hours. Instantly gone if I ate a meal or drank from a water bottle. I use a water bottle frequently, so might last longer if that wasn’t the case. The last time I used it I left it on about 2 minutes to see if longevity increased. It was so dark that it wasn’t flattering and still didn’t last. Still about 2-3 hours, even when I ate my lunch carefully to try to keep it on. Other reviews recommend leaving it on for 15 minutes. I might try it at home just to see if it increases wear-time, but I think it would be way too goth looking for me. The flavor of the spray is not my cup of tea and the sprayer didn’t mist, more of a squirt, so it was all over when I sprayed it. (You might want to use it before you apply any other makeup.) I won’t buy this again. Seems like a few people like it, but it’s not for me. Might even just trash what I have left of this one. Totally not worth the hassle. I have much cheaper drug store stains that last longer and are definitely easier to apply. ... show more

Y’ALL. I am 50-something years old and o have tried every “long wear” and “stain” there is., from department store robbery level to “bitten” or whatever the vampire-y lip stain revlon had out a while back. At my advanced age, I longed for a lip color that didn’t leave my telltale wrinkled lip impression on a classy glass of Cab, or a “i can keep up with those gals” bottomless mimosa glass. But alas, all of the long-wears were disappointing, dull and most of all DRY. (Ask my kids about my “pinky nude” collection.) I was skeptical, but I have spent waaay more on crappy lip potions that I won’t use but apparently keep to torture myself about my wasteful spending. The purple was shocking and the first time I used it I sprayed and peeled pretty quickly, lest I end up with 1978 Donna Summer Disco Era hologram lips that I definitely could not pull off in my office. And to my amazement that stuff STAYED ON. Not dry, not seeping into cracks (ew, sorry for that image) not sticky, not weird tasting, not staining my teeth. Just like a “bitten lip” slightly tinted natural color was there. Longer you let it set, the darker it gets. After a FEW glasses of wine, pasta drizzled with a really good olive oil, salad and dessert, there’s STILL some color! Stayed on through smooches too. Color: Charming Stain & Go
I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this product, but you might like it way more if you do the following: put a VERY thick coat of the stain (like 3 to 5 coats), and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Do NOT spray the activator until you are ready to peel. You can't put the activator on and try to reapply as it immediately freezes the purple/blue stuff. It takes a bit of practice, but now my entire lips come off after I spray the activator. Sometimes, I can peel, and sometimes, it just falls off to reveal such a beautiful color. I love these, but I don't know how practical it is. The color lasted almost 12 hours for me (I did eat, drink, and sleep, and there is still a little color on my lips that make me look healthier), but most people don't want a "process" to apply lip color. The gimmick is really cool, but I don't see these lasting too long once the novelty wears off. It is fun to do, however. You also are much faster the more you do it. I didn't love this product, I still don't because I feel like it took me a long time to put on & it was messy. I imagine i'll get the hang of it eventually so I'm not taking off any stars for my own learning curve with the product. I will say I was disappointed to see the product NOT stay on my lip line, it sort of...leaked onto the fine lines around my lips. I was able to use makeup remover & a q-tip but it was annoying. Also the directions say to use 1-2 sprays of the mist stuff but I needed more like 3-4. You have to mess with the formula to find out what works for you, I think. For me I liked doing one layer & letting it dry out then adding another layer to any spots that were missed & letting THAT dry out a bit. Then using 3-4 sprays on my lips usually made 80% of the blue mask come off. A little buffing with the included brush, q-tip for removing any that spread outside my lipline & I'm good to go. I repeated the above process twice because I wanted a REALLY saturated lip & since then I've just been putting a clear lip balm on top & the color is STILL THERE more than 12 hours later through dinner, drinks & showering/brushing my teeth twice. That's crazy good. Maybe the best longevity for a stain type product I've ever tried ... show more
