I had a coat like this over 10 years ago...when I was skinny. I always loved it. After gaining some weight, I had to part with it. I have been looking at this coat for about 4 months. Given the mixed reviews, I wasn't sure about ordering it. I walk my dog each morning, and I need a long, warm coat. I finally took the plunge, and the coat came on 1/3/24. It fits me perfectly, it's warm, I love that it's lined inside, and being a person with long arms...I finally have a coat that has "long" sleeves!!!! Most coats I have, the sleeves are always too short. I won't need to worry about it with this one. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this coat again! A few notes: I am 5'9 and approximately 230 lbs; I normally wear a 2X shirt, coat, and jacket. Knowing me, I would have ordered this coat in my normal size, a 2X, and it would have been huge on me! After looking at the reviews and size chart, I ordered this coat in a "Plus Large," and it fits me perfectly with room to spare (not too big, it fits perfectly). As most reviewers mentioned, it runs large. I ordered mine in charcoal gray (it's a solid medium gray fabric with no "heather hairs" like others have mentioned. This coat is "berber" so it's not silky, slinky soft like a fleece coat would be, but it's also NOT stiff, and scratchy...like some people have mentioned. I am writing this review for those who have been looking at this coat for a while and were leery about ordering it. Had I read a review like mine a few months ago, I would have ordered it well before I did. Don't hesitate to buy this coat...you just need to ensure the sizing is right! First of all, I like the charcoal color. Second, the sleeves are long enough, and the wrists aren't tiny! Third, the shoulders aren't too narrow (as so many coats tend to be). It's warm. It's fully lined, including the front pockets. The only thing I think could be improved is the size of the hood. It's oddly small for such an oversized-style coat as this one. It will cover your head in a pinch, yes, but it looks a bit like an afterthought on the coat. ... show more

I read the reviews before I purchased and still decided to buy despite the overall 2.7 rating (I usually on buy 4/5star rated items and I’ve never bought a coat on Amazon). The coat is actually pretty nice for the price. I see what people were saying about the lining being noisy (it makes the same noise puffer coats make when the material rubs together) but it’s really not that bad, it sounds like most coats with a similar lining. Of course the quality could be better, but it’s not trash. (Let’s keep in mind that it’s a $50 coat, a decent chunk of money but not expensive). It’s not rough or scratchy, and once it’s on, the noise diminishes greatly. The actual coat material isn’t super soft, but unless you’re used to cashmere 24/7, it’s also not rough either. I believe it fits the price paid. The coat is fairly light given the size but it’s not thin. It’s pretty warm and cozy and there’s some fleece in the pockets that’ll help keep your hands warm. It’s very long and oversized. I’m 5’8, about 155lbs. I’m not plus sized, I wear Small or 4/6 in dresses, jeans size 5, waist 27. I have long limbs which is why I bought this plus coat thinking (correctly) I could finally find a coat that didn’t leave several inches of my arms exposed. Overall I like the coat I just wish the hood was bigger, it covers your head but is a bit on the small side considering how oversized the rest of it is. A bigger hood would also look more fashionable. And I might exchange the medium for a small if I’m not too lazy. Also it looks longer because of the downward angle of my phone but it stops a few inches above my ankles. ... show more

Pros: It is warm. It is cozy but does not cause me to sweat. It is very stylish. It is long, I wanted to wear it with my long dresses. Comes with extra buttons. Cons: It runs small, order a size larger(especially for large upper arms), It is not a solid black color. It feels flimsy and lightweight.

This was just about the cheapest coat I have ever seen! For $78- I didn't expect it to be the best, but it was so horrible, it's going back straight away! If the Dollar store sold coats, this would be one you could get there, The faux Berber fabric is thin and flimsy, and a kind of scratchy plastic or nylon, the lining is the kind of cheap vinyl you get in a cheap suitcase or handbag! The 'hood' is more like a flap, not long enough to actually cover your head! I'm so put off by this purchase it'll be a long time before I buy any type of clothing on line anymore as I'm out $94- so far, between the coat, taxes and shipping back and forth, I hope I'm able to recoup something for this, I REALLY feel like this place sells clothes on line because NOBODY would buy this stuff if they could see it first! ... show more

It is an excellent and very warm coat. On a 27 degree F night I was outside running around chasing cats with only a thin nightgown underneath and wearing flip flops. I stayed warm. Very warm. The only issue is that I got a size larger than I should have. So I decided to keep this one to wear as an outside bathrobe (I love it so nuch) and get a size smaller to wear out and about. It is pretty well made (thus says a professional seamstress); it is a really good value, and is so nice and comfy. Best of all, the black has a bit of white in the fibers, so cat hair doesn't show up on it very much. Buy it. You'll love it as do I. ... show more

Looks like a heavy coat, but it really isn't. It blocks the wind well. I bought this coat for my mom, she loves it. It is longer coat which is a plus. A great buy for the money. She was very pleased with this one after buying a different one online and it was way too small. I have the same coat, we both have received lots of compliments. I bought the extra large and she had room to wear it with a sweater.. she is 5'3" so it comes to her ankle. I am 5'6" and it comes to mid shin on me. ... show more
