My kitchen is very dark since we have no windows in the kitchen therefore no natural light & not much reach there from the living room. There's only a ceiling light in the kitchen above the dining table which isn't bright enough for the counter areas & that light cast my shadow in front of me when I'm at the counter which really irritates me & make it more difficult to see well. I had my sons help me figure out exactly where to position the light strips on the ceiling so that it'd light up that side of the room & not cast a shadow in front of me. We used the blank extending strips that had no led lights on them over the stove hood since the light would be blocked by the hood anyway & it had it's own light there. That way, we're able to extend the rest of the led lights strips to the 90° angle side of the counter & light up that section of the room as well. We attached the control panel on the side of our cabinet at eye level so it's easy to access & it's on the side where we do all our prep/cut & washing. Control panel have a green glow, can turn on/off, adjust the brightness level & light pattern as well. Also, it came with a small separate remote that has all the functions of the control panel but have separate buttons for all the features instead. We've had it for several months now. Love how it looks & usefulness of it. Wish it came with more led strips or longer light strips so that it can be extended more on the ceiling to the rest of the room so I only need to turn on that light & not need to turn on the dining table light anymore. ... show more

This is a wonderful value for accent lighting. I have a shadow box in my family room. It was lit by fluorescents and only 2 of the 9 still worked. I ripped them out vacuumed the dust out and installed the strips. There are two outlets powered by two switches on the wall. With this unit, I can turn them on and off with the switches OR with the remote. The dimming is remembered when the power is turned off and on. One hint, the "adapter" with the push-button is needed to control dimming and receive the remote. To control more than one unit from a single remote, press and hold the button with power on. The lights will now flash. Press the "ON" button on the remote and the lights will be matched. The manual explains this at the very end. ... show more

These are super easy to install. They make it perfectly around the under part of all my kitchen cabinets. The lights are really bright for food prep and can be dimmed down as a night light over night. I really like these and if they last as long as they claim I will definitely recommend to friends

Make sure you know that each kit has all the connectors for your application. This kit (8 x 20”) will only make ONE U-turn. After that, the pins are in the wrong position to connect to another U. You can make it work with other connectors, though. Otherwise, these lights are great, and pretty easy to install (the work is the prep...getting the position marked and figuring th location of connectors). ... show more

I used a glue gun to keep the lights up since the adhesive didn't really work well. I also glued two mirror clips underneath the cabinets to hold up part of the electric cord so I could direct it to the back of the cabinet. Our kitchen is dark and have a dark countertop, so this light string is helpful brightening things up. It is inexpensive and is a nice addition. ... show more
