This fixture requires assembly. This lamp does not include bulbs. All pieces are packaged well and protected by plastics and styrofoam. The instructions are hard to follow with a very vague assembly procedure so it helps to be somewhat familiar with lights and wiring or at least be inclined. The YouTube video I would highly recommend watching before starting to put your light together. We took so much longer doing it by trying to read instructions when if we had watched the video prior, it would have taken so much less time. The holes at the top ring do not fit the screws very well and needed to be drilled a little bigger. .The lamp is well built and looks very nice. Would rate a 5. Love the look. ... show more

The light itself is pretty and well made. But do not purchase this to hand over your dining room table or over an island in the kitchen. When the light is turned on, it leaves a very dark shadow in the center of your table because of the round disk at the bottom of the light - and the bulbs shine upward, not down. Been looking for a nice light fixture to upgrade the standard recessed light I had. This light was priced amazingly as compared to some big box stores for comparable fixtures. Me and my husband put it together in about 40 mins or so with interruptions from the kids. It’s possible to put it together by yourself but will take longer with trying to hold it steady while you align and tighten the pieces. I would recommend having an extra set of hands to make your life easier. This fixture is just what I was looking for! A wood look without the issues of having wood outside exposed to the elements. It really elevates the look of my front porch. It’s like a piece of jewelry for my house! Considering buying more for inside the home as well. ... show more

Bought this for my two story foyer. Its on larger size, i find size just perfect for my needs. I really love the design. I assembled it myself, was not bad. Took a little coordination to hold it steady while assembling. Had electrician install since ceiling is 17ft high. I'm really happy with it. Know that it is all metal, the side rails which look like wood are painted metal, so it can scratch while your assembling. I also got a similar one but much smaller, for my stair well.     • Careful during assembly

Light was difficult to assemble due to the screw holes having the overwrap from the fixture in the screw holes. I recommend using a screw to clear the holes before trying to assemble. This made the assembly a little less difficult. Other than that, light looks fabulous!
