I’m shocked at the quality. I bought this one because I only had 45$, and needed a bag delivered overnight for my trip the day after. So I wasn’t expecting anything great. I was shocked really. For the price you can’t beat this. Non of the zippers broke or anything like that. Everything was threaded and stitched good. Has waterproof cover for extra protection. Large pocket capacity. Only thing was it didn’t have a separate slot for water bladder which I was confused about because they have the hose holder. I don’t care how expensive my bladder is if I’m going on a 3 day in the woods , I’m not risking my clothes getting soaked because the bladder isn’t secured in a different pouch. I put my bladder in a couple zip locks and secured it in the strap part. Still though you can’t get this quality for 40$ with any other brand. I am happy with it. ... show more

This is a good high volume pack but don’t be confused this is definitely not a “BACKPACKING” backpack because it lacks a lot of features that are very important when going on a BACKPACKING trip. The pack does seem well made. Stitching seems solid along with the Molle straps to carry more gear. I’m unsure about the quality of the buckles and zippers. They are unfamiliar to me since none of my other bags use these type but they feel kinda thin and fragile to me but I’m completely guessing. The features that are lacking which set this apart from backpacking backpacks are the following: - This arrived in a small square plastic bag about 1 x 1. This instantly told me there was no internal frame whatsoever in the pack. This is essential for carrying higher weight needed for backpacking - Shoulder straps and hip belt have very little padding at all. - Sternum strap is kinda weird. there’s elastic sewn to the strap which prevents you from tightening it down to your chest. - Hip belt and shoulder straps have very little padding. - Hip belt is not adjustable on the fly. you’ll need to set it to one position and live with it. This makes it difficult to distribute weight back in forth from your shoulder to your hips while hiking. - There’s only access from the top. The zipper on the bottom seems to be for a small bag maybe wet stuff? - Top hood is one piece with the bag so it’s not extendable to hold more gear. Even though it's not a backpacking backpack I still ranked this 4 stars because for $50 you get a decent quality high volume backpack and after re-reading the description they don't really claim it to be for "Backpacking". ... show more

    • the perfect pack for Thru Hiking!

As a previous Thru hiker (I have done the Pacific Crest Trail twice and the Pacific Northwest Trail once), I can say with all confidence that this pack is 99% perfection for long distance thru hiking! no joke. what makes it even better is that you are not spending hundreds of dollars on name brands, this is under $50 and that is such a crazy good deal for what this pack is! There is only one negative thing about this pack, that is the buckles need to be upgraded. the ones that come with the pack like to slip. its not too difficult to change them out, but if you cant, you can still make the ones that come with it work, you just need some super agressive sandpaper and a rough file. I used a small triangle file to make the teeth that grab onto the straps for the buckles more pronounced and then hit the surrounding area with 40 grit sandpaper. after doing that the straps have not slipped anymore. The buckles are just too smooth as they are, and they need to be roughened up so that the straps create friction when tightened down. The pack is labeled as "waterproof", its not totally waterproof because the stitching holes have not been seam sealed, but it is fairly well water resistant. I cut out the little "shoe pocket" at the bottom of the pack so that the bottom zipper goes right into the main compartment of the pack. that shaved off a couple ounces, so now the pack is right at 2 pounds. for a pack made out of heavier material like this, that is screaming light weight!! Most people will look at this pack and think "its pretty good for a overnight or day hike", but I look at it and say "it is PERFECT for a week long hike and even better for a long distance Thru Hike". this is not some "weekend warrior" type pack, this is for the true hiking "proffesional" that lives on the trail for weeks and months at a time. this pack EASILY and comfortably carries 45-50 pounds and has a decent amount of exterior pockets for all our little goodies. If you are looking for a long distance pack and dont want to spend way too much money on a name brand, this is the pack you are looking for. ... show more

It has nice padding and comfortable enough for this price even lack of internal frame. Zippers are smooth too. But as you can see in the pics, white threads are coming out. I even didn’t start using yet. I don’t think this backpack last long enough.

This is a decent pack for the money. It is plenty big. The pack looks to be made of good tough material. Most of the straps are placed in good spots, making this pack pretty comfortable to carry. It's a good pack. The one thing I didn't like is the chest strap. I feel like it is placed a little low. I like mine to ride pretty high up and tight. But, maybe that's just me. Other than that it's a great bag. This one will probably replace my 10 year old BWCA pack that I paid $90 for at Cabela's. ... show more
