Top Amazon Reviews

  • Outstanding earbuds for the price!
Color: Black
I bought these earbuds after reading a review on CNet.com about them, and I'm so glad I did. I was looking for a reasonably priced second pair of earbuds. I also own a pair of Jabra Elite 65t earbuds, and—at one-third the price—the EarFun earbuds are a better value. tl;dr: definitely recommended! The pros: 1. The EarFuns sound nearly as good as the Jabras (there's just a bit less bass with the EarFuns, but definitely not enough to justify the 3x price premium of the Jabras). 2. The EarFuns fit better in my ears than the Jabras (of course this will vary for each person). The CNet reviewer stressed getting a tight fit for good sound, but I don't have any problem with the fit. Sound isolation is just as good as the Jabras. 3. The EarFuns seem to stay connected (to the phone and to each other) better than the Jabras, and experience less interference. The Jabra's encounter static and dropoouts whenever I walk through automatic doors (say at the supermarket) and even in certain places around my house (maybe due to my wifi repeaters). This also happens at the gym if I'm in certain places. I haven't experienced this issue at all with the EarFuns—the connection to the phone and each other is rock solid, and the bluetooth range is excellent. 4. The EarFun's storage/charging case is MUCH better than the Jabra's. For one thing it's flat on the bottom (the Jabra's case is curved and cannot sit upright on a flat surface). The EarFun case also has magnets that hold the earbuds in the case while charging; the Jabra earbuds just sit loosely in their case. The EarFun case can also be charged wirelessly (as well as with the included USB-C charging cable); the Jabra case uses a micro USB charging cable. If you already have a wireless charging pad for your phone, this is a great bonus, since you don't have to worry about the charging connector wearing out over time. Cons: 1. The EarFuns can't control the sound volume. I realize this is a premium feature, but I miss it compared to the Jabras. 2. The EarFuns don't have the auto-pause feature that the Jabras do (removing one earbud from your ear pauses the music until you put it back in your ear). Again, a premium feature, and you *can* pause the music from either EarFun earbud by tapping the button. 3. The EarFuns seemed a bit picky about pairing with multiple devices, at least initially. I had to re-pair them a couple times, and once even had to reset their connection to each other (this is covered in the instructions). But I haven't had to do either of those recently, so maybe that was just me getting used to operating them. 4. The print in the user's manual is SUPER TINY and printed in gray, not black, ink. I'm in my 50s, and even with reading glasses I couldn't make out the text and infographics. I had to use my phone's camera as a magnifying glass to read the instructions. It's possible they're available online (I didn't try to find out), but I suspect even younger folks will have trouble reading the instructions. To be determined: I use earbuds mostly for music listening, not making phone calls. I know the Jabras work reasonably well for that, but I haven't had the opportunity to use the EarFuns on a call, so I can't comment on how well they work for that. Conclusion: If I hadn't gotten a great deal on my Jabras (I paid less than half the list price due to a couple of online deals I was able to take advantage of), I would be really pissed that I'd paid so much when I could have bought the EarFuns for 1/3 the price and gotten an overall better value. The EarFuns are going to stay in my gym bag, and I'll use the Jabras around the house. I'm, even considering buying another pair of EarFuns for listening in bed. As I write this in mid-December 2019, I've only had the EarFuns for a few days, so it's possible my rosy outlook will change if they turn out to be duds later. I will update this review in a few weeks after I've used them for a while. But as of right now, I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reasonably priced set of earbuds that have terrific sound. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, and for the price you can't beat them. UPDATE October 15, 2020: still loving my Ear Fun Free earbuds! In fact, I just bought a second pair, and the new model has volume controls, which The last model didn't have, and Even other earbuds that are twice the price don't have this feature. You will not go wrong with these earbuds! ... show more

  • sound is great but I have trouble with it falling out of my ears
Color: Black
I use it when walking and sometimes they fall out of my ears which is annoying- Definitely noise cancelling which is good and bad when you are out walking among traffic!

  • Ear piece too large
Color: White
Poorly constructed and conceptualized ear piece. It is very, very large and heavy and feels about to fall right out of my ear. I had another pair by this brand I liked and lost and wanted to replace but didn’t realize this was a different model. I really just can’t imagine why anyone would think it’s a good idea to make a heavy, needlessly large ear piece to hang and fall out of ears. I have to secure them every couple of minutes. One or both of them are going to disappear and I’ll be scouring the street for them. Very disappointed and now that they’ve been in my ears, don’t think I can return. Edit: Adjusted my review to reflect excellent customer service. I was contacted today with an offer of either a refund or a replacement with a different model (one I previously had but had lost) and I chose the latter. Really unexpected! Very pleased and impressed. Looking forward to receiving the new set! ... show more

  • GREAT BUDS! Gotta keep them clean though.
Color: White
Original review (updates in parentheses) The more I use these the less I like them. It has great features like wireless charging and Bluetooth 5. I like to connect them to my Apple TV (update: they are no longer able to connect to apple tv 4k. Its says they need to get an update to be compatible) when I run on my treadmill. I have noticed a few things though. The LED indicator on the outside of the case does not dim lower then the first light. So the case goes dead with out me knowing. (This just went away for the most part, may have been user error?? IDK) I often get an echo that quickly self corrects when I use them for a long period of time. (still happens but its a minimal issue) They move around a lot in my ears when I run. I am worried that they will fall out so I am constantly adjusting them. I have tried the other fittings with no luck. This is the biggest problem since they only work if they stay in (duh, but i have noticed that as long as they are dry they do just fine. I was getting sweat on them and if that happens they move around. So I just keep my hair off my ears and they stay dry during workouts). I hope now that I have used them for two months I have found all the bugs. I will keep using them though. They do the job. Just not as well as I expected. ---Update--- I have actually come to like them more then before. I have had them about 9 months but still 3 stars cuz I have new issues. (most have been overcome by cleaning, see next section below and I upgraded to 4 stars) The buttons are easy to use but they have become discolored. I cant get them clean. (still true) So now they are a white/yellow color. Also my left bud doesn't hold a charge anymore. (this has been fixed) I put in the buds and they connect to my device but then after about 5 min its saying it has a low battery. This may be because after put them back in the case they sometimes do not disconnect from my phone.<--(also fixed) Lastly, they no longer are able to connect to my apple tv. When I try to connect them my apple tv says that they need an update... which they cant be updated so... that sucks. They are great buds. Maybe I just got a bad pair. I am going to reach out to earfun and see what they say. Good News! I emailed earfun customer service and they got back to me in 48hrs. They recommended the following for the low battery issue and it worked!: "A. Press the earbuds with forces to eliminate loose contact with the case and keep them in ready place for a couple of times; B. Use a toothpick to gently clean the three metal contacts on the earbuds and charging case to avoid dust or wax stains; C. Clean the contacts of the earbuds and the charging case with alcohol cotton swab; (especially the groove of the earbud contacts); D. Rub them with clean napkins and charge them around 1.5 hour to try it out. (Ensure the case has enough battery life simultaneously)." If you are still reading this.... They didn't appear dirty to me but cleaning them has done the trick! I did notice some green oxidation on the qtips after cleaning. My normal habit is to wash them and leave them out to dry after workouts so they are generally clean. Through all of this the only issues I have left is I can no longer use them with my apple TV and the buttons are still yellow. As shown in picture. If I could use them with my apple tv then its easily a 5 star in my book. ... show more
