It also includes two anvils, a 360° swivel base, and dual lock-downs to ensure maximum stability. The body and movable jaw are 30,000 PSI gray cast iron, and the base is 60,000 PSI ductile iron, so this is a vise that's built to last.

    • Standing behind the Warranty?
When removing the jaw caps after purchase to lubricate and adjust the bolts, 2 were frozen and the heads damaged when removing. I could plainly see the threads were not cleaned after tapping and the debris from the manufacturing bound the bolt up such that the removal exceeded the strength of the bolt's phillip's head design. Not a large deal, although I read others have had to drill the bolts out and re-tap. I was lucky. However, upon contacting the Wilton company for some replacement bolts, under warranty, I was bluntly told they don't "sell" them separately and could only recommend I send the entire vise back to Amazon. Given the weight of the vise, I chose not to do this for want of a few bolts that would cost Wilton less than a dollar. However, if they won't stand behind a couple bolts failing under warranty, it makes me wonder what they would do if a major component failed? Suffice it to say, Wilton Customer Service failed to value what would have been a trivial action for them to gain significant customer good-will. I just hope the vise never fails and I need to go back under warranty to a company that treats customers like this. Be fore-warned if your by this because it's a "Wilton". ... show more

This has been a really nice addition to my shop. I actually haven’t used it much. But today when one of the jaws fell off I was very disappointed. I was able to look past the apparent shipping damage when I first received the vise to my door. There is a small dent on the bottom of the sliding piece in the back. However the obvious over tightened screws that have been twisted off, and loctited in place with a dab of silicone holding the jaw onto the vise is enough to make anyone mad. That’s just messed up. Nice vise and no complaints other than some shoddy workmanship that I will fix myself. In the pictures you can see that I welded a couple nuts onto the twisted off screws and was able to extract them without further issues. I’ll buy a couple of screws and reinstall the jaw that fell off. Other then that, I’m content I suppose. Not super happy with my purchase now. ... show more

This vice is heavy duty and will be more than i will ever need. That is a good thing wide jaws large striking plates. The reverse setup is real nice for large items. The striker plate ends up under the item stopping it from moving while hammering away. good design

I spent a lot of time checking out different vises before settling on this one, and so far I’m impressed with it. Tons of versatility, good construction, hopefully the last vise I have to buy. Been using it for approx 3 months so far.
