I purchased this after having little to no pain relief from an intense bursitis flare in my shoulder. I already tried using a standard bought-at-walmart quality sling and suffered from it slipping around, pinching/pressure across my throat, and getting scratched up by the cheap velcro adjusting strap against the skin on my neck. I am not a small person so was a little concerned with the sizing listed on this post, but I discovered that it was more than adequate. The first time I put it on, after a moment of figuring out how the harness needed to be situated and getting my arm into the proper positioning to take the weight off my shoulder, I had astonishingly immediate pain relief. The harness system minimized the stress on my neck, allowing me to relax both shoulders. The strap around my chest was comfortable and effective at immobilizing my shoulder to allow it to rest and heal. I could not use that hand for anything in the mean-time (no typing, weight balance, etc.) but that is the point. And I am a fair snob about quality-to-cost, so I am glad to say I am pleased with the quality of the materials and manufacture. I think it will stand up to long-term use with proper maintenance. My 13 year son decided to play Superman on his scooter and totally wiped out breaking his collarbone. He had to wear the hospital provided immobilizer for a couple weeks then we needed to get one a little less restrictive. This was the perfect fit. My shoulder feels so much better now that it is supposed by the sling. My arm was yanked by my Border Collie who took off at full spead while I was holding the leash. Now that my shoulder popped back into place I needed to stabilize my arm. This sling did the trick. Very comfortable & easy to put on by yourself. I only needed help adjusting the strap that comes from behind you.... it was to long and needed to be cut. Two hands required for cutting 😉 ... show more

This is the best sling for comfort and fit. Because of the design of the straps that attaches to the sling In the front there is no pinching on the neck. Another strap goes around your waist and attaches to the front so your arm and shoulder feel very secure. It very easy to sleep in. It does get a bit warm when the temps are warme. I like that there were limited seems on the inside of this sling, so there was a lot less irritation, post surgery. However, after a few weeks, the inside started to wear, and I end up with a small hole or two. I'm wearing this sling full time as I'm recovering from a broken collarbone injury. Compared to the even less robust ones that I got from the ER, my orthopedist, and Amazon, this one is the best of the bunch. I had issues with the other ones digging into soft part of my back behind the shoulder blade. The big round pad in back and three-strap design does not do that at all. The velcro closures are already getting weak after 2 weeks of use. This is unfortunate because I need to wear this for another two months or more. I have a second one on the way, hopefully that allows me to wash and dry one while I'm wearing the other. I know I need to hand wash it to keep the remaining useful life for the velcro tabs. ... show more
