Of course for that price you'll have to add better corrosion resistance than the factory paint applied on it, I can even understand how people complain about rust appearing on something in that price range. Just paint it with the right paint, it will still be an incredible deal. I you ever fabricated metal things you know what I am saying. I even shot some cavity wax in the tubes before assembly. Been on my car for a while in my humid and salty NorCal coastal town and it is not corroding. This was super easy to install and does the job perfectly. We are not keeping this constantly mounted to our vehicle and only will use it occasionally to transport larger things. I used the provided sealer around all the screws and joints, and that has worked pretty well. As others have said, however, many of the welds immediately began to rust after the first rain. If you are wanting this for more long term use, maybe you could spray paint it prior to install. Even with this extra effort, I would say it's still worth the price. I’ve been shopping flat racks for awhile. Anyone else who has knows they are crazy expensive. For the price these are really well made and look great. I have an F150 with a 6.5’ bed with a cap that has the Thule rail system and this fits almost to the exact foot print. Little bit narrower but otherwise a perfect fit. Looks great, little to no extra noise. I use it to mount a side canopy and a pelican cargo box. For the money you can’t beat it. Comes with a nice net, hooks, and ratchet straps. Welds look great and comes with sealant to add to all the joints as you put it together. ... show more

I bought this item to store pool floats over the winter in a garden/pool shed in south Texas. By spring the net had stretched out and was thin in places near the hooks. I definately would not trust this net to hold belongings to a vehicle roof rack when it couldn't even hold pool floats for a winter! ... show more

I was floored by the quality of this. Not because it’s the best rack on the market or anything, but at the price point I can’t believe how well thought out it is. As someone who builds things for a living and has worked in metal fabrication I was not expecting much. Pleasantly surprised. The gauge of steel is solid. I was expecting beach-chair gauge steel. It’s closer to 1/16”. The bends are nice. The pieces all slide together smoothly and perfectly. The welds… meh, not perfect. The finish seems to be actually powder coating, not just spray paint. The fact that a color-matched sealant was included was just 🤌🏼 👌🏼. The mounting hardware provides 2 options for how you can mount. The u-bolts are coated in rubber. And it comes with a bungie mesh and ratchet straps. I honestly don’t know how they made a pretty darn decent thing for the price. The weak point was the tapping. About 25% of the bolts just didn’t want to thread and I resolved to force them and intentionally cross thread them just to make it work. Time will tell how the sealant holds up and how noisy it is, but in the meantime I’m stoked. Great purchase. ... show more

Pros: sturdier than expected, available in 90” length, looks great Cons: missing parts, mounting brackets are cheap and awkward, major quality control issues, I wish it was available in at least 50” width, not worth the price I purchased this 90x47 design on sale for $170. When I received it I was missing two of the connector tubes for the middle basket rods. I called Amazon and they promptly sent out another full rack and told me to send back whatever I didn’t need. It took an additional week to receive the second parts rack and as I looked over the rack I began to regret my decision. The tubes that connect the separate pieces have a bit of play, which makes me uncomfortable with the structural integrity in the middle of the rack. Thankfully I didn’t have any issues with stripping the screws when assembling the rack, but I definitely took my time knowing other people had issues. The week passed and the parts rack gets delivered. I go through the new parts and realize this box is missing one of the mounting brackets. Thankfully I had the four that came with the original(the 90” should come with 6 mounts in my opinion) but had they sent this out to another customer they’d only have three mounts. Then I realize the mounting brackets in the new box don’t have washers like the first box did. Seemed odd. I assemble it on my roof in two halves to line it up better. I expected some modification since this is a universal rack, but these mounting brackets are bulky and awkward so it took trial and error to get them on. One of the mounting brackets stripped during adjustment so I had to take one from the new rack pile. After getting it all up and aligned I realized I’m going to have to go to the store and buy some sheet metal to make an additional locking point, like a long washer, to hold it all together in my situation. The twist on nuts are cool, but I worry that they will loosen with time so I’ll be replacing them with locking nylon nuts. Overall I wish I would have just returned this originally, or better yet, bought a flat aluminum rack with a much higher weight rating for a little more money in the first place. At this point it would be too much work to try to return both racks, especially since the original rack box was thrown out in the week it took to get the replacement. I will say that I like the look and now that it’s assembled and mounted, it feels much more sturdy than when I was putting it together. Overall I’m not happy with this purchase, but I’ll update this review if my option changes. It was so much work to put it together and get it mounted, but I may just take it off and try to sell it to salvage some of the money I spent and put it towards a better rack. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Absolutely great for anything that you don’t want in the bed of your truck or they can’t fit.. I have a hard cap on my bed, and sometimes coolers or items can’t fit you can easily just toss it up on this rack. It was extremely easy to put together and well-designed. I was surprised that the tiedowns we’re actually welded onto the frame and just not screwed in. As you can see in comparison to other rocks that I have for a half bed the center Support is actually on the bottom. This fit my 5 1/2 foot bed perfectly.
