Clever me. It looked like what I wanted and the reviews were very good - so I bought two. They look as if they would work just I had hoped but the chemical/plastic smell is overwhelming. I hung one in my closet but had to remove it because the powerful odor filled my whole bedroom and beyond. Hard to believe this can be good for your health. ~BACKGROUND~ I purchased this purse file as a Christmas gift for my wife. She previously just piled her purses on one of the shelves in our closet and purses were buried and stored misshapen. ~PROS~ - The horizontal insert "loops" are easy to use. - The clear material makes it easy to see the purses. - The hanger style provides the flexibility to hang it from a hook on the back of a door or from a rod in the closet. - The workmanship appears to be solid. The plastic is malleable and thick. ~CONS~ - The file can become lopsided, unbalanced if not properly utilized. - Depending on the purses being stored in it, the file can end up being bulky and taking up a lot of closet space. - Ideal for medium sized bags only. Larger ones either do not fit or must be manipulated. ~TIPS~ - File your purses based on the weight and size. Larger, heavier purses should be lower and lighter smaller purses higher. - File with balance. Make sure you are putting similarly weighted purses adjacent to each other. This makes the file more balanced and reduces the potential for other purses to slip out. ~CONCLUSION~ Yes, it takes up a it more space in our closet, but the purses are now organized and easy to find. ... show more

I have several Coach handbags and the Miche Demi with interchangeable shells. I was looking for something to have my bags visible and protected. This fit the bill for much, much less than the Miche organizer (over $30 bucks + shipping), and it holds 8 purses/shells whereas the name brand product only holds 6. I just received it so I can't comment on durability, but I like it so far. I can see all my handbag options easily and they aren't piled up in my closet floor. The only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the product could stand to be another 3-5 inches wider. Since my handbags are slightly wider than the opening, I simply put the empty ones in upside down so that they don't collect dust inside them. Another user recommended putting your bags in an oversize ziplock before storing them. In any case, I am posting a picture so hopefully you will understand what I mean. ... show more

I had high expectations about this purse organizer but am not as happy with it. It is sturdy and durable enough, efficient space use as well, but it's not very comfortable for using it. My purses often slide from all the way through the sleeve and end up off the hanger, on the floor. there are a couple different sizes of sleeves but not enough diversity in height or tightness of slots, so they are either too large for small purses or not large enough for big ones. Bought this to organize and store my leggings. They were taking up an entire drawer in my dresser and it was time to reorganize. This works GREAT! I can fit about 3 leggings in each pocket. Now, if this will hold, time will tell. It did bust through the rivet at the hanger due to the weight of it all but the hanger itself seems really sturdy (metal) and it would have to bust through a really big area at the top to actually be enough to fall but the canvas seems well stitched and sturdy so I have faith. I will update if that happens--but so far, very happy with this! ... show more

Admittedly, I'm using this for a non-standard use, but this organizer is for my family's Nerf blasters. It does a great job of organizing even the odd sized blasters and keeps then from being scattered all around the house. It's sturdy enough that it hasn't torn or sagged under the weight of the bigger blasters, or from my boys pulling the blasters out to roughly. What a huge difference in my closet! I'm not much of a "neatnik" by nature - though I prefer things tidy, if it's not handy to put things away I'm going to end up with a mess. This organizer really works for me - no more reaching to stash my bags out of the way on the top shelf or bending to shove them into a bin. No battling evil dust bunnies to get to the under-bed storage bin. Nothing to zip/unzip, latch/unlatch. I can just pop the bags into their slot, and that's it. I guess that, as other reviewers have mentioned, dust could become an issue, so I wrapped the bags I use less often in a sheet of white tissue paper - it's still easy to see what's what. I don't have enough bags to fill this yet, but I'm working on it. The bags I do have are mostly small to midsize crossbodies (lightweight), so two fit easily in each slot. Lots of shopping to do! I'm actually back to buy another of these for my jeans. I have very little drawer or shelf space, so I was jazzed to discover that each slot holds a folded or rolled pair of my jeans perfectly. No wrinkles, and no rummaging around to find the pair I want. Takes up way less space than using pants hangers, too! ... show more
