The media could not be loaded. Many months ago I installed a 16” LED light in our laundry room. It was quite the job due to an oversized hole which had held the previous jury rigged light fixture - but after many hours of battle, the war was won. The fixture was nice looking, the light output was intense, and, if I recall correctly, the price was around $26. I was so proud of myself for days, maybe even weeks, until … I opened one of the cabinet doors and it hit the light fixture (due to lack of clearance). What a bummer! So last week I installed a smaller & thinner light fixture. Not only was it too small to cover the old hole, it STILL wasn’t thin enough - the cabinet door still couldn’t be opened all the way. Back to the drawing board. That’s when I spotted - and ordered - the Wheatronic 12” ULTRA SLIM (my emphasis) LED Flush Mount Ceiling Light Fixture. In 2 days I had it in hand; in less than 30 minutes it was installed. NOTE: Once again the oversized hole in my ceiling threw a wrench in the works, at least doubling the install time. This, and the fact the 12” fixture isn’t quite adequate to FULLY cover the hole, has NOTHING to do with any inadequacy in this product. My thoughts: * Exceptionally thin - less than 3/4” * Very light; was actually able to hang the fixture off of only 1 connected wire while working on it * Very simple install; if not for my particular situation it would have been less than 10 minutes * All required hardware was included; even had 2 extra plastic clips (4 are needed to hold the light to the metal crossbeam) * The screen shot of the “color temperature” switch (from description) shows it must be adjusted PRIOR to the final install; the Instructions give no indication of this (guess what I failed to do?). My wife said the light is fine (on the default setting), but I’m sure we’ll have to try the other 2 modes. * And the price? Extremely competitive (will be hard to beat it) ... show more

the fixture produces a good coverage of light and not too bright. install was a breeze, just connecting the wire and snapping the fixture into the bracket. but, i don't love that you have to screw the bracket into your ceiling. i live in an old house with uneven plaster around the junction box. as you can see in the picture this didn't happen to sit flush. i wish it would have but you won't get that with a flat 12" disc. ... show more

The things I like most about this fixture- 1- super low profile design seems to blend with modern & contemporary design 2- the flush mount characteristics of this fixture mean I'm not losing head space or making the ceiling appear lower 3-NO BULBS!! This fixture will last so long and I never have to replace a bulb! 4- powerful, bright light in a light weight, compact fixture. It took me less than 20 minutes to install, considering I spend most of that time deinstalling our old (from 90-s) light. The light is superslim, super easy to install, comes with everything you would need (except screwdriver or drill), has some additional small parts in case one or two will be list during installation. The frame which is screwed to the ceilinghas various holes to fit any type of enclosure. It has 3 light choices and is brighter than our older light, yet being energy efficient LED. First photo of the light being "on" with warm seting, the second is with light "off" . As somebody mentions, after you turn it off there is an afterglow for a few seconds, which is not a problem for the laundry room I've installed it in. Being super flat it lights nicely the entire room with just a slight shadow in corners, but our laundry is not a huge room. The price is just right for this basic light - while it is made of plastic, it will serve its function in the laundry, closet or hallway parts of the house, i.e. anywhere there practical use is more important than aestetics. ... show more

Pretty bright (18w should be 1200-1300 lumens; listing says 1440; it's somewhere thereabouts) and good looking. It was easy enough to install and is pretty flexible; it could have been easier with a cord to hang it from while making the electric connections. It's made of light-weight and flexible material, which was a mixed blessing, but overall it's just fine and is working well. Note that it doesn't have the broadest possible spread for an LED panel -- it's very bright immediately below and lights the room in general, but there's a bit more shadow in the upper corners of the room than I've seen with other fixtures. No doubt this is at least partially caused by there being no light in the other rim in a fixture of this style, so everything is projecting downwards. For anyone who cares, there is a pronounced after-glow once power is cut; a common thing with LEDs, that can be a plus or minus, depending on your situation. It fades in a few minutes. Color quality -- I have it set to daylight -- looks quite good. Overall, a great bang-for-the-buck product. ... show more

I wired this up and found that it is quite bright and has the advertised three color temperatures which are easily selected by a switch on the back side. I purchased another different unit before that I installed in my bedroom closet, but I think this one would be better since the other had a remote to control color and brightness. The reviewed item is pre-set with the switch on the back. You can always change the color temperature by lifting the fixture down and moving the switch, but that probably won't happen often.
