It is very sturdy, I have used it daily for couple months already, it does get dirty after a while, but a quick wash with soap would make it look new again. They’re so sharp which is exactly what you want in a good pair of scissors. They’re perfect to bring along while traveling… You never really realize how many times you wish you had a scissor when you’re on vacation. Especially when you’re buying all kinds of memorabilia type of stuff and you want to take the tag off of things. My daughter can’t stand having tags in her clothes and there were times that I forgot to remove them before packing on a trip and I’m so glad I had a scissor. And when you’re traveling with a group, there’s always that one person that didn’t pack anything practical and asks for random things like scissors… And I’m always the person that has all the odds and ends that people don’t think to pack. This is my second pair. They are still sharp after using them almost daily for snipping threads and cutting fabric. I have used them for at least three years. The only con I have is that the rubber on the handles has worn so it’s loose for the finger holes and the two outside pieces of rubber for the index finger rest have come off. I need to re-glue them. I love these great little scissors enough to wish for a reason to buy another pair! They are super durable, small but not so small as to cause my hand to cramp with extended use. The description does NOT exaggerate when describing them as being resistant to adhesives- I didn't realize how important that is when I ordered them. They were purchased simply because the price was right and I wanted to replace the big honking ones I've used for years. I guess I'd grown accustomed to wiping down the others and didn't think of it. I've used these daily for months now, cutting various tape and what not. They have not felt tacky or had any difficulty cutting the random things I grab them for. *knock on wood* I still use the old pair to cut cardboard and things that dull blades but these are my go to now! They're quite sharp as well but not too sharp to cause me to over snip when trimming small, intricate details. ... show more

I ruined a couple of pairs of scissors trying to cut sticky surfaces but nothing seems to stick to these so I’ll probably have them forever!!!!

    • Great little pair of scissors
The reason I gave these a 4 star rating, is not on the performance at all. Rather it is the comfort of the handles, and when you have a lot of things to cut using them, ut can get very fatigued on the hands. I primarily got them for detailing, for somewhat stiffer and thicker paper. I do have arthritis in my hands so it makes it even harder for me. Just an idea maybe they could make these scissors also in models, for arthritic hands as well...idk... just a suggestion. Otherwise they are very durable, very sharp, and serve the purpose for which I purchased them. I do recommend these also. ... show more

    • Guess how the "length" is measured?
The blades of the Westcott 5" scissors are only 2-1/8", and the rest is handle, so they must count each blade. Very funny. This is barely long enough to handle 2" wide Gorilla tape. My Fiskars pair from 2017 looked long, but now I see their 8" measure included the entire handle! I'd return the Westcott but the price was so affordable, I'll just order an 8" one as well. The non-stick coating on the Fiskars worked very well, but wore off in about three years. I use lots of sticky tape and contact paper for DIY projects, and the non-stick blades are way better than my old method of wiping the blades with alcohol before each cut. ... show more
