  • Our cats absolutely love it
Flavor Name: Mack & Jack Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 24)
We have four cats and one ended up with a mild UTI a couple years ago...vet recommended we add wet food into their diet to help prevent futher infections. This brand was highly recommended by the vet as well as a store associate at Petco. Our cats get this food for breakfast every morning, and go absolutely crazy every time. ... show more

  • Green Eggs & Chicken, 3 Paws Up (includes a 17 yo and 7 yo picky Debutantes). Great Human Grade Cat Food Experience
Flavor Name: Green Eggs & Chicken Size: 5.5 Ounce (Pack of 24)
During the cat food recalls of 2007, I became aware that the dry food I always fed my cats was not a good diet. In fact - at the time - I prided myself on feeding cats @ $8.00 a month. Luckily, this Generic was not using the Gluten that was the cause of the Recalls. After trying various tastes, my budget and cats decided on Holistic (use to be Eagle Pack Holistic) Chicken dry and Wellness Chicken Grain Free. Then, we had a problem with the Wellness Canned Cat Food Recently (it was pulled from Amazon - and now my Canned Chicken food doesn't show up in a review). I then went to the Wellpet site, and noticed mostly dry food was offered from many online retailers. THIS told me something was afoot - and I went back to the forum which helped me with cat food research. Unfortunately, many folks had gone back to fish as a main part of their cats food. However, they did bring up the rotation aspect - this means never feeding the same type of cat food concurrently, and also picking up some locally first, to make sure your cats will eat the darn thing. Locally, Chicken was the least affected of the Wellness foods, and the store I get it from, Wellness is manufactured at ANI (code begins MW). This means I could also get a food that was produced at Menu/Simmons. However, Weruva was raved about in the forums, so without knowing where it was manufactured - I gave a few cans a shot (Green Eggs & Chicken was the first flavor I read - so that is what I tried). All cats slopped that food right up with no ill effects (Siberia is a 13 yo with sensi tummy issues, and there were none with this food - even after he gulped it up). I then looked up Weruva on the Internet, and found out it was manufactured in Thailand. This first gave me pause, but they do guarantee Human Grade Food, and the food in the cans look quite edible (and no, I'm not eating it - but in an emergency ;-). Amazon has a better deal on this food than my local retailer. So my order for the cans went in (I had read some negative reviews here about the quality of the food, but with the Amazon Guarantee - how can you go wrong?) I am pleased to announce that the food received from Amazon looked and tasted (according to the cats), as good as that purchased locally. So for Weruva, Amazon has my business. With rotation, you can circumvent the cost of Weruva in a multi-cat household, AND being on a fixed income, through rotating. I've settled on four canned food varieties, and one dry food (I may also be inclined to try some Weruva Paw Licken' Chicken, but for now - I have plenty of food). The cost for multi-cat households is also offset by buying the larger canned varieties - 12.5oz to 13oz, and learning how to store them in the Refrigerator. On Amazon, I recommend the following: Weruva Green Eggs & Chicken Cat Food, 5.5-Ounce Cans (Pack of 24) Wellness Adult Turkey Canned Cat Food (I prefer the Chicken, but until it reappears, this will do just as well). Felidae Canned Cat Food for Adult Cats and Kittens, Chicken and Rice Formula in Chicken Broth (Pack of 12 13 Ounce Cans) (Its not grain free, but I personally don't like the mix for the regular, and neither do my cats). Innova Cat and Kitten Formula Canned Cat Food (I had used it in 2007, and decided it wouldn't hurt them in a rotation. Its the only wet food that contains some fish). Holistic Select Feline Radiant Adult and Kitten Health Chicken Meal Recipe Dry Cat Food, 3-Pound Bag (I have tried to go all wet, but Baby Girl - 17, has had problems with all Grain Free, so a little dry didn't hurt her). I feed a little dry first thing in morning every day. Then 1/2 can of one flavor, remainder placed in refrig plastic lid. Then 1/2 can of another flavor, same storage. The next day, those cans are used up by adding a little hot water and nuking from 5 to 8 secs (this depends on your microwave and amount of food). The next day, we have 5.5 oz can of Weruva split between 3 cats, and 1/2 can of the last flavor. The next day we have another 5.5 oz can, and the remainder of the previous can. That is four days, fifth day we are back to the beginning. A side note, many supplement with Friskies canned in order to cut costs. I personally have yet to get over the meat by-product thing. However, if it would help your budget - Friskies Cat Food Classic Pate, Turkey & Giblets Dinner, 5.5-Ounce Cans (Pack of 24) is THE best one to use for this purpose (no glutens). 3 paws up for Weruva. ... show more

  • Cats Love It
Flavor Name: Paw Lickin' Pals Variety Pack Size: 3 Ounce (Pack of 24)
The ingredients are great, with protein being one of the firsts ingredients. Also this brand, so far, doesn't contain a bunch of crap that cats don't need to eat other then fish which I limit. The best thing is my finicky little felines like the food, flavors. The only issue is they seem to prefer minced and pate which this brand offers some of but mostly the food is shreds and chunks which my cats usually just like up the gravy and leave the rest or most of it. This is part of my regular subscribe and save list but I don't get it every order but rotate it in every few months. Oh and best of all not only as mentioned above this food is made of good ingredients. This brand also tends to be a bit over priced in my opinion. ... show more

  • Amazing food but check your cases!
Flavor Name: Green Eggs & Chicken Size: 5.5 Ounce (Pack of 24)
Both my cat and I love this food for her. BUT check your cases!!! My last case I was sent the dog version and didn’t notice until I went to feed my cat and noticed that the formula looked different. Make sure you get the cat cans!

  • A grain free wetfood WITHOUT CARAGEENAN & MSB !
We have purchased this for 5 of our cats after discovering from our sick Kitty most of the regular cat food from supermarkets and pet stores is junk. So began the search for grain free dry and wet food. We already had found out about the health risks of CARAGEENAN to humans and with dismay noticed it in nearly all the premium cat foods. Carageenan is a thickening agent (so is Guar Gum,Xantham gum), none are good for you, but the latter two are way more preferable than Carageenan. It comes from seaweed. In that form its fine. Typically its how us humans process it, that transform it from seaweed into a likely carcinogen (watch out for it for your own grocery shopping and refuse it). I'm no scientist, just google it. Theres loads of high quality cat food in pet stores available now which we'd love to give our cats, we figure they would like variety as much as people rather than the same old everyday, however, going through each high priced wet food (over 80c - $1.50 per can or pouch) looking at the ingredients most yielded carageenan amongst good ingredients. Frustrating. We are not gambling with our cats health anymore with that processed gunk in their stomachs year after year. No way. So, we found this, they all love it, especially if they haven't had it in a while. There is no menedione sodium bisulfate (msb) in it either, which is a man made vitamin supplement, generally regarded as unhealthy. Watch out for Weruva fish variaties though, which according to other reviews apparently have MSB, we only use their chicken at the moment. Pros; Human grade chicken meat NO carageenan NO menedione sodium bisulfate (msb) All our cats like it, some more than others Cons; Potato starch (instead of grains),not particularly healthy but better than grain filler? Sadly the change in diet wasn't enough for our first Kitty, she died of cancer earlier this year, over 11 years old. Years before the illness she was always vomiting, especially wet food. When we switched to grain free (Wellness Core for dry, Weruva chicken for wet) it almost stopped overnight. We think now she was allergic to grains and regret not finding out sooner the useless harmful junk in most cat food. It is also stunning how little vets know that cats do not need grains in food and they can be harmful. Ours even sell and give Science Diet, loaded with poor quality meat and filler. We have spent a lot of time researching for good cat food, primarily without grains, meat by products, modified starch, carageenan & msb and more trash. For those pressed for time, heres some things we have learned and used; THE FOLLOWING CONTAIN NO GRAINS,CARGEENAN & MSB; Wet food; Weruva chicken Wellness wet 3oz varieties POUCHES ONLY (NOT tins which have carageenan) Natural Balance wet 3oz varieties POUCHES ONLY (NOT tins which have carageenan) Dry Food; Wellness Core Fish & Fowl I'd like to try Blue Buffalo Wilderness dry food, states grain free but has oats and rice, aren't they grains? Times are hard and premium cat food is expensive. If you a on a very tight budget and have to buy the supermarket junk try Friskies Chicken shreds, lots of filler rubbish in there but no carageenan and first ingredient after water is chicken (most are by product),also SOME fancy feast varieties, some whiskes. When you can get your cats some Weruva Chicken tins,Wellness pouches,Tikicat tins, the more better food your pet eats the more it'll save you in vet visits down the line. Have any unseasoned scraps of fish or chicken, turkey from your own meals left over, they'll love it and its good for them. If anyone has any other useful suggestions for wet or dry cat food that is grain, carageenan & msb free please let us know through the comments section. ... show more
