The media could not be loaded. I was thrilled to get these wrenches. The idea was to try and replace a pair of Knipex pliers-wrenches. The Jokers are incredebly robust. Great feel in the hand. There is some play in the head of each, but it doesn’t hinder thier operation. They are a little more bulky than expected, mostly in in the head itself. The heads of the larger sizes are very thick. The carrying case is very, very well done. An afterthought for most tool makers, Wera packages their tools extremely well. Within an hour of using the wrenches, I became used to them to the point where I was no longer using the thumb pawl to open them before seating them. Simply butting it into a fastener and pulling the handle to one side works well to open the jaw. The ratcheting is superb. The wrenches loosen and grip like no other, without having to adjust your grip, unlike the Knipex. As you can see in the video, these are the best tool I’ve found for servicing hydraulic fittings. I can’t wait to see what else they can do. And yes, I’m going to be ordering the XXL. Thanks for another winner, Wera. ... show more

Ok, so I was skeptical…. BUT … every time I pick up one of these wrenches, I love them more. They are quite obviously well made with precision assembly tolerances. They feel great in the hand. The jaw shape and mechanism is nothing short of genius. Yea, pricey. But these are wrenches that will last generations. Not years. There is a slight learning curve to get the hang of using them… but for those who wrench on stuff for a living, they will make sense in 10 seconds and just work for you every time. I reach for these before even considering an adjustable or open end wrench. I have yet to put one back in the drawer for an adjustable or open end. I work on amusement rides for a living and have a LOT of tools. These are my absolute favorite unique AND completely useful tools for use every single day. ... show more

I’m now a Wera fan-boy. Just ordered the 1/2” and 3/8” and 1/4” ratchet and socket sets, and these self adjusting spanners are awesome. Also picked up an XL adjustable spanner along with the ratcheting wrench set. Money well spent. 👍👍

This is a fantastic set of self-setting wrenches. They work great, though they do take a little bit of fiddling with to get the gist of how they work. They were on sale when I picked them up, and I'm not 100% positive I would have paid full price for them. I'm a fan of quality tools. I like Wera tools. But occasionally the value to usefulness ration gets a little out of whack. If I used them a little more than I do, I'd probably bump up the value for money field to a full five points. ( I use mine weekly, rather than daily. ) ... show more

    • A bit expensive but useful

The idea of a ratcheting adjustable or open end wrench is a good one, but the other versions I have tried didn't work well, these do. I hesitate to call them adjustable wrenches since the range on each wrench is only claimed to be 3MM, but the set does cover 7MM-19MM or 1/4" - 3/4", which is a very useful range for most of my applications. These wrenches are faster to use than open end or box end wrenches since the ratcheting mechanism eliminates the need to remove and replace the wrench frequently. I'd also rate them as better than standard adjustable wrenches since the pulling on the handle tightens the jaws. The harder you pull, the tighter they grip. Yeah, this set is kind of expensive, but when you are struggling with a nut that your socket wrench can't reach, the price starts to look reasonable indeed. I like them enough that i have ordered the 19-24MM (3/4-15/16") wrench as well. ... show more
