Features

  • 4 times the screwdriving speed thanks to the turbo function (purely mechanical - without battery)
  • Activate and deactivate the turbo function by a simple push of a button
  • Turbo function especially for smooth couplings
  • Robust, maintenance-free gear made of steel

Description

Many users would like to be able to carry out screwdriving processes faster without compromise. With a screwdriver that is precise, allows powerful screwdriving, and is much faster than a conventional screwdriver. A part-time universal gear is the solution: Integrated in the screwdriver handle, it quadruples the working speed with smooth couplings - purely mechanically. One hand holds the front part of the handle, the other hand turns the rear part of the handle. The turbo function can be switched on or off at the push of a button. Turning it off is recommended for tightening and loosening with high torque, e.g. for screw connections in wood, as well as for fine adjustments. Robust, maintenance-free gear made of steel with a maximum torque of 14Nm when the turbo function is deactivated. Thanks to the Rapidaptor bit holder, the Kraftform Turbo can be used with all conventional 1/4" hexagon bits for a wide variety of screw profiles. With the Rapidaptor function the bits can be inserted directly and can be easily removed by pushing the sleeve forward.

  • GEARS NEED LUBRICANT
It says not to use any lubricants because it has a lubricant that’s meant for the life of it. NOPE I used some Ceramic bike chain lube and all of a sudden it works as advertised. It blows my mind that they don’t want you to grease the gears ⚙️. Use a Ceramic bike chain lube and it’ll dramatically reduce friction and improve your overall experience. ... show more

  • Great Screw Driver with a lot of bad reviews.
It's an excellent screwdriver and does precisely what it is supposed to do. When the gears are active it makes it easy to drive screws quickly. When you want high torque just press the button on the back lock the gears and use it as a regular screwdriver. The majority of the bad reviews are just people not understanding the tool they bought and how to properly use it. It has zero torque issues. When the gears are active it will not have a ton of torque but it's plenty for most tasks and it brings all my computer screws to the torque I usually drive them to. It will take some getting used for me due to its bulky size and 2 hand use (You need to hold the front and twist the back when the gears are active.) but, overall that's my only complaint. It's a chunker that works well for its designed purpose. ... show more

  • Well made screwdriver; rapidaptor does have very low torque
I bought this screwdriver for the electronics projects that always have really long screws/bolts. It does exactly what I want it to - the rapidaptor function really lowers the torque transfer which is to be expected. I don't mind it because it helps me know when I have to watch how much I'm tightening things. Wera came through for me! ... show more

  • Nothing special
I bought this as a gift for someone and they weren't very impressed. It wasn't at all what they thought it would be and seemed kind of cheap. It doesn't come with any bits either, causing you to spend more money than you already did on it. When you would turn it, it just seemed kind of cheap.

  • It's okay, but not great.
I probably wouldn't buy this again. It's well built, and the bit holder is really nice, but the twist drive system just doesn't work that well. Because the drive ratio is 4:1, it gives really poor torque performance on spin mode. So it'll drive fast, but it really gets hung up on any little bit of dirt that gets caught up in the threads on the screw you're driving. It makes it so you have to press the button constantly to put it in fixed mode, which kind of makes you just use it in fixed mode all the time. That makes you wonder why you didn't just buy a fixed screw driver for a fraction of the price. The other issue is how you change modes. The push button on the end does not engage easily, it has to be lined up to click the lock in place, and it's awkward to use. I found myself going back to my wobble driver for longer screws. If you're really into Wera stuff, you might like it, but otherwise I'd buy something else. ... show more

  • Neat concept, limited execution.
The unique mechanism in this seems more suited towards smaller-scale work. When torqued too hard, the mechanism inside broke and the screwdriver became literally useless, even when the turbo function wasn't engaged.

  • Great engineering and functionality
This driver is pretty unique. I wouldn't use it for all screwdriver functions because it has a little play in it due to the mechanics of the internal gears; however, the main purpose of the driver is for speed setting smaller screws, which is where this thing really shines. I find this driver to be much easier to use than the offset-type screwdrivers (such as the Klein Rapi-Drive offset). It works especially well for driving the really long screws used for setting electrical outlets, light fixtures, and cover plates. ... show more

  • Love this screw driver
This is the best screwdriver. I like the drive aspect that lets you increase the speed of the tool to get your job done. The gearing feels nice and comfortable.

  • Great for electronics
This screwdriver is great for electronics. Don’t expect it to do well with mechanics. It’s designed for smooth, non-corroded screws. If you manage your expectations and use the driver for what it was designed for, it’s excellent.

  • Crunchy, didn't work out of the box. Don't waste your money
I have never or felt a junkier tool out of the box than this. The gear mechanism barely worked on the bench, didn't work at all when put into service. Most imprecise tool new I have ever seen. Super crunchy inner planetaries. Junk Period. I sent it back for a replacement, but if the next one is like this, WERA should consult Harbor Freight, or ANYBODY on how to make a working tool. Either the unit I got was defective or WERA is just Scheisse. This driver was expensive, I will not give it a pass. If this is "GERMAN" quality, it's not a wonder than the Far East has dominated the tool industry, at least Most of the eastern stuff works out of the box, unlike this piece of trash. Amazon sent a replacement, it was as horrible as the first. Don't waste money on this pathetic excuse for a tool. Just don't. Read the other negative comments and you will see they match mine. Thing doesn't work. ... show more

  • Unfortunately you should listen to the reviews 😃🤣
Good idea wera is great brand but they failed here. No torque can be applied and if you like with a pliers wrench holding it with another hand. Then it becomes awkward a two handed operation for turbo mode. Need a wrench to hold it for higher torque and alot of spinning force on the other. Maybe only good for finish plates for electrical receptacles. Since this tool it just a gimmick for collection to those that don't actually work. ... show more

  • Worst screwdriver I've ever bought
I normally like wera screwdrivers and I got hooked on the marketing for this one....but it's a pure gimmick at this point. Any pressure on the screwdriver and the gears lock up and won't spin which was the whole reason I got sucked into buiying it. There's 25 degrees of backlash in the locked position so you get about half the turn you would out of a normal screwdriver. Literally the most I've paid for a screwdriver and it works the worst and not even close to as advertised. Straight up POS. Save your money and peace of mind, if anything get a ratcheting screwdriver but the older I get the more convinced I am the old fashioned ones are best ... show more

  • 1 star is correct or maybe 1 star quality control
My experience aligned well with the other 1 star reviews. The “turbo” mechanism is very hard to turn and is not smooth at all. It does not have any sort of ratcheting function either. Cobalt double drive is a dream compared to this. Wera does not include any bits for this either so you’re really just getting a expensive paper weight that feels broken. Returned. I like the brand just not this product. ... show more
