This isn't my first bench grinder, I've owned more than a few. This one is kinda awesome. It's quiet and smooth. Typically a bench grind vibrates pretty significantly, but this one runs so smoothly that you don't necessarily need to bolt it down. Obviously it depends on what you're using it for, but for my use case, it doesn't matter. If you need it bolted to your bench, the great thing about the smoothness of this machine is it won't cause items on your bench to go dancing around and falling off! I read the reviews saw some positive and negative reviews but I went ahead and purchased this grinder. Iv just set it up and started using it. I'm grinding some u joint caps for clearance because the snap rings are just a bit thicker than the original ones but they fit into the groove. Soooo my point is this worked like a charm along with some calipers to check clearance. THE GRINDER is decent, it works, it grinds, it definitely is a little wonky. It vibrate and it seems that the bearings will eventually fail due to vibration. The grinding wheels seem off center. All in all it's not perfect but for $61 including tax I can't argue. If it's a tool you like and want to always have one handy than you can always upgrade! Have fun and be safe. As my shop teacher always said "quit screwing around" lol. Overall this is a great little grinder for a DIY person like myself. It is easy to move if need be but powerful enough for basic trim work and tool sharpening. Really hard to beat for the price. Probably not for a shop using daily as some of the parts are plastic like the brakes for the eye guards. However for most home shops, which is who I believe the average buyer of this item would be, it should be fine. Needed a bench grinder for some hobby work. Nothing fancy or expensive. This grinder does a great job for the money. I only need it for light stuff but it could probably handle more. Like I said: Good bang for the buck!
