  • Great picture, and great portable projector.
I wanted to get some use before I wrote this review. I purchased this projector to use almost exclusively outdoors, in the backyard, camping trips, etc... I've had it since July and have been mostly happy with my purchase. The picture is very bright, usually run it on view mode (brightest), and can get through a 2-hour movie before a low battery notification. Build quality is top-notch, feels very dense and solid. Built-in sound is great for most movies and with a small group of people near the projector, but on occasion, I've plugged in an external speaker via the 3.5mm output (Aiwa exos-9) and it really makes it sound like an outdoor movie theater. If you connect a Bluetooth speaker there will be a ridiculous amount of lag and makes stuff unwatchable. In terms of picture quality, a family member of mine has a cheap projector that was priced around $3- 400, we watched IT Chapter 2 on it one evening, the image on that thing looks like a crappy projector, even in complete darkness, I was not impressed. My roommate has a cheap projector ($2-300) set up in his room, even with his room completely dark, the picture looks bad, the colors are weak, the resolution is terrible, and the contrast is not there, almost no dynamic range. This projector does not have that problem, even with some ambient light this projector looks like what a TV would look like. This is my first projector, I usually watch things on a 4k Dolby Vision TV and I don't really notice a huge step down in terms of picture quality. Obviously, the TV looks better, brighter, and sharper, but in terms of color, brightness, sharpness, and dynamic range, this projector does great in my opinion. This projector broke my preconceived notion of projector picture quality. Android TV is great, like I said I use this for camping, I can load a bunch of movies on a 128gb flash drive and watch them through VLC media player (downloaded on the play store) with no issues. When I am somewhere with WiFi, I love having a bunch of apps, HBO Max, Disney Plus, Youtube, etc... I know some people complain about no official Netflix support, but for my use-case, it doesn't bother me, but I can see how that can be a downside for others. The remote is great, and the carry handle is nice. I like that it has a tripod mount, I keep a tripod quick connect on it and use it with a tripod every time. I do wish that it came with a case, but I found a Pelican case online and customized it to fit the projector, remote, and charger perfectly. Overall, I'm very happy with the projector and it fits my needs great. ... show more

  • Excellent little projector.
I wanted a good projector under $1,000, but I needed it to be compact. The shelf we normally use in the living room is about 6-7 inches wide, so with the cables connected, there was no way something 9+inches was going to fit. I did lots of research on the brightness of projector and stuff like that. If you’re planning on investing in something better, no matter what it is don’t be lazy. Do your research. Companies on Amazon will label their products as this or that, and they aren’t necessarily lying. But when they use their own standard, they might as well say projectors have a million lumens. It doesn’t matter. If they have their own graded scale and not an industry-wide standard, they can put whatever value they want. They’re counting on you not looking deeper into it. Since a lot of factors are very subjective with these things, I’ll kind of compare my old $60 one to this one because that was kind of how I made my decision to go with this one in the first place. The brightness of this particular projector is exceptional. I had a small projector labeled as 1600 lumens, not ANSI lumens. (Those 1600 lumens were probably closer to 100-300 or so ANSI lumens, but there’s a lot that goes into it so, honestly, it could be more. It could be less.)That one was nearly impossible to see during the day. It was also labeled as 1080 pixels compatible. The actual pixel number was probably 480. I could literally see every pixel. On this projector, it is truly 1080. I don’t see any pixels. The picture is clear. I can watch this during the day. At night, the quality is even better. It gets really bright. I have my projector about 12 feet away and the screen is approximately 120”, and the brightness isn’t the same as if it were an actual 120” screen, but it is truly bright. The contrast isn’t the same as a tv either. Look into that if that’s something that’s important to you. Using a black screen behind it can help with the dark sections of the picture, but I keep it simple and just project on a blank, white wall. I really like how convenient this projector is. Besides having the picture and brightness I wanted, most apps are available already on the projector itself. At this moment, they do not have Netflix which is inconvenient, but I went from having a cheap projector that I had to connect to everything to having one with WiFi, so if I have to connect my cable box, my phone, my PS4 or whatever just to watch Netflix, I’m really not going to complain. I’m generally not a fan of Android, but the Android tv has been pretty easy to use. I haven’t tested out using the projector much unplugged or outside because my particular needs don’t call for long, unplugged usage, but I would say most other people’s claims of it lasting about an entire movie’s length on power saving mode seem credible. Another thing that kept me from pulling the trigger on this purchase was the price. I wanted something compact, true 1080, and bright for, preferably, under $400 or $500, but the fact is that’s really impractical. You’re asking a lot and expecting a lot. This little projector truly delivers on all aspects. At the time I purchased, there was a coupon for $100 off and that really helped. ... show more
