I used to get the weight control to add to dry food for both my dogs, in order to add water to get one of my dogs to get a little more hydration. They both scarf it down and lick to bowl to get every bit. But one of my dogs, my boy, has been throwing up with some consistency for a couple months. My vet recommended switching to fish based food so it would be easier on his stomach (it wasn’t till I ordered these that I noticed that chicken was the top ingredient over fish, though may be less that the combination of the seafood ingredients). Well, from the moment I open the can my girl went CRAZY! And every time I got the can out and opened it up she went crazy! She LOVED it. (Both my babies love food of any kind, and my boy showed no difference in how much he liked this over the other variety. He still did his happy spin and then scarfed it down, licking the bowl of every drop.) I was hesitant to order through Amazon after reading reviews about multiple cans dented. But not one of mine was dented, and it seemed fresh. In fact the other variety was ordered through Amazon with no issues either. And with the addition of this mostly seafood based canned food and salmon based dry food, my boy hasn’t thrown up in a couple weeks, where it used to be 1-2 times a week! I hope the amount of chicken in the whitefish variety is not enough to keep my boy’s stomach issues acting up. 🤞🏼 ... show more

While I can’t personally testify to the taste, the fact that Gimli finishes his meal every day leads me to believe it is tasty for dogs!

My dog liked this product, I ordered the beef. However it does not have a pull top lid, and the price is way higher than the blue buffalo grain free brand. She liked it but,... it is hard to open and more money.

I bought the first back of the turkey, chicken and liver flavor locally to try it out. after transitioning her to it we noticed how much more regular she was and her "after meal business" was easier to pick up. she used to get diarrhea from so many other brands we tried. and while I have to say she loves the junky brands of dog food out there (the ones that are all by products and garbage you should not feed your dog) they were not agreeing with her system. finding a balance of quality food she will eat was not easy. she is a Crested, if you have one, you know they are picky. I got the dog as a rescue and had to have several bad teeth removed, so she needs a softer food to eat easily, this really fits the bill. the canned food is like a pâté. I give her 1/4 can twice a day with ground up with wellness core air dried kibble. I mixed them together so she gets a bit of something to chew with her last back teeth. her skin is looking great, and she put on a pound. is 8 pounds now. she licks her bowl clean. what I love most is what it does inside her- no more gassy dog on the sofa next to me, no more beef breath, no more wet runny mess in the grass to scrape up, no more dog straining for way too long to "go". if you have a picky eater, give it a try, it may be perfect for you. its much easier than cooking for your pup. I did get one can with a dent when I ordered it here, and I see many reviews about the dents but it did not effect the contents, it was not broken open in any way. the case comes in a box, it has those bubble pillows around it, but its heavy so I think dents will be part of the process, but its so much cheaper here on Amazon even if I had a few I cant use I am ahead. see my photos of the product out of the can if you want to know what it looks like, its a ground smooth food. the higher protein count in this food VS the last lower price stuff means I had to cut back on the feeding portions (or cut out her treats or have a chubby pup) I just cut back her portions and she did gain weight which she needed. she is now at a healthy good weight and is happy. ... show more

UPDATE JULY 4, 2016: I'm updating my review to state that I have since researched and found that this product is indeed a different product from the one that I have ordered previously. The label on the previous order stated on the left of the "Wellness" name: "NO CHICKEN" So buyer be aware that both cans of the Whitefish, Salmon and Herring Formula look identical with the exception of the "NO CHICKEN" on the front of the label. I was not aware that they had a chicken filler and a non-chicken product that was labeled identically in color and labeling. Even with chicken stated in the ingredients, I was concerned that they had actually changed the product as opposed to having one with and one without. ******* Initially Purchased this product in local grocery store. Label ingredients did not include any chicken product or much in the way of fruits and veggies. My dog has food sensitivities to chicken and a few others. I never would have fed this to him if the label included the ingredients we stay away from. Received our shipment from Amazon and the label states chicken, chicken liver, and a sundry of fruits and veggies as well as the claimed and listed fish. Not happy. Re-evaluated this product page to find out if I ordered in error and the ingredient list is listed on the page twice. Let's just say I once felt confident that I was feeding my dog foods that he could eat without suffering from allergic reaction. Until they can clarify exactly what is in this can I cannot justify feeding it to my dog or recommending it. 4 stars due to label ingredient inconsistencies.
