    • The Rubber Piece is Bad

This is my second weighted jump rope, and first one where the rope is weighed (first one was just the handles). There are a few quirks with this rope. The handles feel really nice. They are weighed and have a nice metal finish. There's also grip to help hang on to the rope, though its starting to slip after 2 months of jumping. The length of the rope can be adjusted by unscreweing a cap off of each handle. This makes adjusting the rope very easy. However, I've noticed that while jumping sometimes I can inadvertently unscrew the caps. The worst part of the rope for me, and the reason for the low score, is the rubber piece along the rope. The purpose of this I assume is to give a more audible sound to new jumpers and provide a bit more weight to the rope. The issue is that it's loose. There's nothing stopping it from sliding up and down the length of the rope. This leads to the rubber piece making the rope to bend in unsymmetrical ways while jumping, leading to more mess ups. While I have become somewhat accustomed to it, it can be very discouraging, especially to new jumpers. ... show more

So I took up jump roping while the pandemic. I've been at it for a little over 2 months now. I initially bought a speed rope and 2 weeks ago I decided I wanted to try a weighted rope for more muscle toning.. It was a big transition from the speed rope to this. I must say it's not for everyone. I would have never thought that 1 lb could make such a difference. It's taken me 2 weeks to get up to 180 jumps at a time ( 7 sets a day }. My wife tried it once and said I was crazy. You definitely feel it in your forearms The rope itself is sturdy and well built. I find the handles to be a tad short and slippery as they're metal but like the fact that you can unscrew the bottom and fill with sand for extra weight. I haven't tried adjusting the length as it was good for me upon arrival. Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and would recommend this product to friends. ... show more

I bought this product but it was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a weighted rope with the weight bearing centered in the handles, so that it can provide more resistance in the forearms and upper body. Instead, this rope had all weight loaded in the rope itself (there's a grey plastic tube surrounding the rope) - the grey material makes it odd to jump with, since the weight is thrown off, and the grey tubing makes a loud slapping sound every time it contacts the ground while jumping. ... show more

Would have been a 5 star 🌟 review had it not been so hard to make it shorter. I think 🤔 it was easier for a rocket 🚀 to land on a meteor than it was to shorten the rope. Quality though is excellent, shipping was delivered quick and I got to use it for my workout 🏋️♀️ today. Aside from the pain in the butt with the shortening, I would definitely recommend. I would not suggest this jump rope as your first jump rope or a speed rope. I bought this because they are almost one pound and they seem pretty durable. I got exactly what I bargained for. The handles are constructed very well; metal with a contoured rubber band around the middle. The instructions for the adjustments are straight-forward and easy to accomplish.
