I've bought remotes like this before so I wasn't really expecting much. I was quite pleasantly surprised by this one though. The airmouse functions well which puts this device above most others I've tried. The keyboard is nice, keys take enough force that you don't press them inadvertently and functions are easy to get to. Bought this to use with a a youtube client on a FydeOS machine where the touchscreen wouldn't allow the back function and it worked perfectly with no setup at all. I've since tested it across a bunch of other systems including nVidia Shield, MiBox, Windows PCs, and Debian Linux PCs - works perfectly on all of them and needed no setup or configuration at all. Does everything I need in a nice compact cheap little package. I recommend this remote highly.     • Multifuncional control
A very good idea for an accessory that combines the ease of a remote control with the layout of a keyboard. It doesn't work well on all TVs; for example, it didn't work well on Sony TVs. Perhaps the TV system reduces its ease of use, but on that brand, it didn't enable all its functions.

    • Updated review: works well but be wary of usb3 interference
When I initially reviewed the item I had issues with connectivity and range, but it turned out that USB 3 devices, like even a thumb drive, can emit enough interference to make 2.4ghz reciever dongles no longer work. Once I moved the reciever away from the usb3 device, the remote works well. Would recommend for tv pc media devices. ... show more

Trying to be fair. I bought this to use with Nvidia Shield Pro. First let’s talk button lay out. The return button as well as the menu button are not in the most logical order. The power button is in the spot you would want the select button. The button to turn off and on the mouse feature will constantly get pushed because of where it is and how big it is. The volume control button are so small and laid out in such a way where you will be hitting the return button often. The one good thing is the mouse feature. That works well. Now the keyboard is not lighted. So when you watch to watch flix and chill with your lover make sure you lights are turned up full blast so you can see the keys. That always romantic, lights blaring. The keyboard is cumbersome. You always squeezing at least one of them. Then the weight balance. Usually you know which is the top of the remote and which is bottom based on the weight. Most remotes if the have batteries tend to be heavier on the bottom half. So when you pick it up you know which way to hold it based on the weight. Well if you’re like me you will be adjusting this upside down ALL THE TIME!!! Lastly the remote does not work with plex at all. It does some things but not the important things. If I want to exit out of a live tv on plex I need to use another remote on my cell phone. Top it all off you need to use a USB dongle. Now to be fair maybe this is good on some other boxes, but for me and my shield this has been a 100% unmitigated disaster!!! Never ever buy again. EVER!!!     • SHIELD TV and this remote are not quite the match I wanted them to be.
NOT a perfect match for Shield TV. But good enough not to keep till I come across something better. PRO’S 1. The keyboard works great. Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Prime, Viki, etc. If a text box needs filling the keyboard can fill it. It also uses the gyroscope sensors to know when it should activate and is tuned quite well. Basically, the control side remains active at all angles including vertical. But once it is tilted past that to where the keyboard sides facing more up than the control side it becomes active and the control side disables. 2. More responsive than the standard control. Doesn’t suffer drop out like the standard one does. (The main reason I even looked for a replacement) 3. The air mouse works well, though on a Shield TV there’s not much use for it. CON’S 1. Power button does nothing for the shield. Would have been nice if it put it to sleep or something. I think another reviewer mentioned it’s only for IR learned components. 2. Volume buttons are poorly placed and designed. Little to no “feel” of placement and the size only makes it that much more combersome. 3. The buttons don’t map exactly like the OEM one does so on some apps on some functions the OK and BACK buttons don’t do what you think or, such as the case with the VRV app, don’t do anything at all. 4. It needs the dongle and won’t pair natively with Bluetooth so you lose one USB port. 5. No mic for doing voice search. So I still need my OEM remote nearby but this one can get most jobs done and even if I’m just keeping it around for text entry ability it’s still smaller than a keaboard and mouse. ... show more
