  • Simplified and cleaned up my setup
Style: UTD53
This dock has made my setup much simpler and less of a hassle. Previously when arriving to work I would pull out my laptop, set it on it's stand, pull out my laptop charger, plug it in, connect it to my laptop, plug in my display cable, and then plug in any USB's or external storage that I might need. Now this dock lives on my desk and all I need to do when arriving is pull out my laptop, set it on it's stand, and connect the thunderbolt cable! That one cable now charges my laptop, sends the display signal, and acts as a hub for any of my external storage devices. This has absolutely been my favorite addition to my work space. It has cut down on cable clutter which makes my desk look better and gives me more room to work. Packing and unpacking every morning and afternoon is less of a hassle. The only oddity that I have found is when connecting my laptop to the dock when I first arrive. It seems that if I connect the dock BEFORE opening my laptop and starting it, it won't connect my peripherals. A quick press of the power button on the front of the dock to turn it off and then back on always fixes the issue. I have noticed; though, that if I open my laptop first and wake it up, then connect the dock that it recognizes everything right away and I don't need to do a power cycle. This is not a big deal to me at all since when it does happen it takes 10 seconds to press the power button twice and fix the issue, but still something I noticed. All in all this is a great dock. Provides the 100 watts my laptop can handle, and provides a simple one cable solution for all my connections. ... show more

  • thunderbolt compatible
Style: UTD53
I primarily use Windows, so I can't speak to the experience with Apple or otherwise. To put it simply, I've had no issues with this at all. I recommend manually powering it off when you're not gonna use ot for a while (I've had to power cycle it before it worked right after not doing so). Performance is as advertised. I've tested this with a couple thunderbolt devices (egpu and storage) daisy-chained after it and everything works fine (takes less than a minute to initialize downstream devices). It does get warm to the touch but never got hot enough that I couldn't comfortably work with it (if I needed to plug and unplug some stuff, for instance). I'm not sure what else I can even say. No issues, no complaints, it does exactly what it says. Easy recommendation. ... show more

  • It can handle my 2 monitor setup with an ultrabook. Super convenient!
Style: UTD53
This really is a plug and play dock! I’ve been relying on a USB dongle for some time and I’ve really wanted to upgrade to a dock that was good enough for my Thunderbolt 4 ultrabook and two monitors. And while I don’t use 4K or 8K screens (yet) I do use HDR, a high refresh rate monitor, a 4K 60fps webcam, a 2.1 speaker system, and mics, SSDs, etc. This thing is handling all of these quite well: no hiccups, no error messages, no issues with sound or picture: it’s just working! They do give you the option to download the drivers in case your computer has issues, but Windows Update automatically updated the drivers and it’s working with my Ethernet connection just fine. While I’m currently in a 1G plan, I do have 2.5G equipment so I like that this is future-proof for that. I also love the array of ports: really exactly what I need, no more, no less. Items great to see that it’s running so smoothly without any complicated setup. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • It works decently especially for windows, not so good for OS X and wide screen monitors though
Style: UTD53
This isn't a bad little docking station. It is made out of very nice and durable materials and it feels solid in the hand. Also, it is designed in a way, that even when fully loaded, it doesn't get hot at all and that's a huge thing for me. For the negatives and why I don't continue to use this dock though- there's a couple of reasons why. I feel like this docking station is geared more towards Windows users than it is for OS X because you actually get limited at your monitor refresh rate down to 4k. It also doesn't allow for widescreen monitors to display correctly while using OS X. You will get bars on both sides of the screen vs just using the entire screen by plugging your HDMI directly to the macbook book pro. Also, why we have the port that puts your input into the computer on the opposite of the port that powers the entire docking station is a major question I have. It makes using it a bit awkward when trying to position my cords in accordance to my macbook pro ports. I really wish they would have put both of those ports on one side of the docking station and that would have made it much easier to use. For Windows, this holds up really well and works with several versions of Windows that I tried out and wasn't a hassle trying to get the drivers to use with my PC. Overall, I think this is a well made docking station, especially if you're using Windows. If you're an OS X user, especially using the M2 or M1 chips, this is going to limit you. Even more so if you're also using widescreen monitors with the docking station. That I would recommend you looking for a more Mac friendly docking station. I can still comfortably recommend this product though, just be aware of your personal technical setup and situation. ... show more

  • Docking Dream
Style: UTD53
This USB 4 docking station has been a stellar addition to my setup. It effortlessly supports a single 8K monitor or triple 4K displays, delivering crisp and vibrant visuals with no hiccups. Whether I’m using it with my Windows PC or Mac, the switch between dual and triple monitor setups is seamless, enhancing both productivity and entertainment. The 96W power delivery keeps my devices charged while I work, and the array of ports—ranging from HDMI 2.1 to 2.5G Ethernet and 10Gbps USB—offers all the connectivity I need. The high-speed data transfer and various media slots are handy, and the fact that it requires no drivers simplifies the setup even more. Overall, this docking station combines high performance with impressive versatility, making it a must-have for anyone needing a robust and reliable hub. ... show more
