  • It's a Tight Fit
Size: 16-18FT
Would I buy again- probably I bought this cover for my crappie fishing boat which measures 17.1' long x 93" wide. Unfortunately, the cover did not fit my boat. Probably due to the greater beam width, I thought the shorter length would allow for stretching to meet the wider beam-- it doesn't. No worry, I used it on my smaller 16-foot-deep V fishing boat instead. Just keep in mind the product is for a 18-foot length boat with a max of 79 inches beam width. This tarp came with ONE (not 4 as stated in the advertisement) support pole that had capability to attach the included straps. The pole has 4 segments. The straps are a great benefit since they stabilizes the pole and minimize tarp sag. Poles without straps tend to fall and are hard to stabilize when putting the tarp on boat. The supports pole is made entirely of plastic instead of a metal pole with plastic top and bottom. It appears to be up to the task, but my concern is plastic does not do well in winter when loaded-- we will see in a few months when the weather turns cold. I think two supports would be a better idea and provide more support for the tarp in rain and snow by creating a ridge line that drains better. Another nice extra is that it comes with a storage bag to put everything in when you take it off the boat- you won't lose any of pole parts or straps-- adds a little more value to this package. ... show more

  • This is nice
Size: 14-16FT
It fit pretty good. I got the 14-16ft for my 14 ft. Jon boat. That way the support pole if in it to hold up the center to shed the water off of it. But, it works. I like it. First time I added a cover to my boat. I decide to cover it after I replaced all carpet with EVG foam.

  • True to Size - Medium Duty
Size: 14-16FT
The boat cover material is less heavy duty than I expected. It's less dense and thinner than the cover it replaced. I expect maybe 3 to 4 years of service outdoors before needing another replacement cover. The boat cover is cut for a squared off bow typical of a Jon boat, so the fit on my convention pointed bow is somewhat loose (extra fabric). The numerous provided straps make securing the cover to the boat a snap. The cover runs true to size. I ordered the 14-16 foot size for my 14 foot skiff and I have enough extra length to extend over the outboard engine. The support system is easy to setup and works well, two straps from the pole to the stern and one attached to the bow. The support system will probably outlast the cover. YMMV ... show more

  • Good quality, good fit, straps and storage bag included.
Size: 14-16FT
This is a good value for a nice jon boat cover with all the attachment straps, a removable pop up inner support and a storage bag included. The quality is good for the cover material and construction and it’s sturdy and well made. The straps are made of a sturdy webbing material and has a large, plastic luggage style snap buckle with an adjustment loop. Even the storage bag is nice and is good quality and holds the cover and straps well. What’s a bit different about this one vs some others, is that a removable inner support is included. It comes un-assembled in a bag, and there are assembly instructions. It’s easy to put together or take apart to store. You can use the cover with and without the support. What it does, if installed properly, is keep the top of the cover from laying flat and having water pool there. It provides an area (see the pictures) where it elevates the cover to create a small slope to let the water run off vs pool. You want this, as it doesn’t crate a pool of water that can be heavy and sit on top of the cover. You should be able to keep the center support and even when this one eventually wears out (all boat covers will over time, hopefully you’ll get at least a few years out of it, as that’s about the normal lifespan of a cover) and use it to help hold up any future covers. You don’t have to use the support if you don’t want to, it’s optional. Be sure and pick the right size for the length and width of your boat and measure carefully. It may or may not cover your motor, depending on the size of your boat and the one you pick. No separate motor or trailer wheel covers are included, if you want those, you’ll have to get them separately. Note that this is for the style and shape of a jon boat, not a power or sport boat, there are covers made for that style of boat, this isn’t that style. For the size of the cover, it’s relatively lightweight and not overly heavy and is easy to lift, carry and handle in or out of the storage bag. I’d suggest cleaning your boat well on the inside and outside before installing it and letting everything dry completely before installing it. If you can have a helper with you to install it it will be easier to do, but one person can install it themselves. Be sure and read the instructions before installing it. They do have a good picture of the instructions in the listing pictures, you may want to print save or refer to that as well. As shown in the pictures, there are inner labels inside the cover showing front and back, to make it easier to tell which side is which. It’s fairly straightforward to install and secure. You want it secure and tight on the boat so that the wind doesn’t pick up the cover and move it around. 4 straps are included as shown in the pictures. The straps roll up well and fit into an included storage bag when not in use, as does the cover itself. The straps are not built into the cover, but are loose, separate straps. You can add more of your own or replace them as needed with this style vs a built in style. They are flat webbing style straps vs stretchy bungee style straps. One thing I liked about this one vs others was the lighter, gray slightly (but not totally) reflective material. Some others are darker and will cause more heat in the boat vs the lighter, reflective tone of this one. The material is nice, good quality, several layers and a good thickness, well stitched with reinforced stitching and is standard for a good boat cover (or RV cover if you’ve used one of those, it’s similar). The material is rated as waterproof and to protect from water, snow, dirt and UV rays from the sun. It also has a built in elastic hem edge vs a free, loose edge. It’s a bit like a fitted bed sheet elastic edge vs a smooth tarp edge with no elastic. It’s not a soft awning like fabric but a coated, sturdy fabric cover that water beads up on vs goes through. They do show in the listing that it (like some boat and RV covers) has vents to let condensation and moisture out. That’s a good feature that every cover needs, as even though you want to keep water out and it should if it’s placed properly, you want to let any moisture and condensation out through the vents (that shouldn’t let water in). It’s a good cover that should last several years at least and keep your boat well covered and protected, if you put it on properly and get the proper size. It’s going to last longer if the boat’s not out in the sun and weather, such as in a garage or under a carport, but will still hold up a few years even in exposed weather and sun. You just have to count on replacing a boat or RV tarp if it’s left out exposed, about every few years. ... show more

  • This is awesome
Size: 14-16FT
This would have been so much better if it had came with 2 supports instead of 1. but it keeps most of the rain from weighing down the cover. If there were 2 of them it would have kept all the rain from collecting on the cover
