We ordered this rug in an 8x10 for our foyer room (11 x 17 area w/staircase), it is the perfect rug. We walk through this room every time we go up and down the steps. The rug is soft under our feet, our dogs love laying on it. It is easy to vacuum and we get so many compliments on it. This is a nice rug and it does wash well. It arrived with a strong smell but quickly aired out. It doesnt slip on the wood floors and doesnt need a carpet backing. The one issue is that it is so soft. It feels like I am walking on a very thin fleece blanket. Im not used to that texture / softness under foot so it isnt enjoyable. This would be nice for a baby room or someone that enjoys very soft flooring. ... show more

I ordered this because I was very curious whether the product could actually "perform as advertised." or if it was all "hype." Two things drove my curiosity. One is that loooong before I retired, I was an interior designer in San Diego, CA. The second (and most compelling reason) is that the morning I ordered it I had spilled a roasted beets and orange juice smoothie on my light beige dining room carpet! NOT at all attractive, and beet stains have staying power! So this area rug arrived this morning, and I'm happy to say it is EXACTLY as advertised! No knowledgeable person will ever think it's an actual hand woven Oriental carpet, primarily because it's a soft luxuriously textured FLAT surface with a printed pattern. No raised pile! It has a nice feel to it, but I haven't walked on it yet because it takes an army to move my dining room table. It's a real treat for young families with toddlers who want a little panache in their lives. or apartment dwellers who don't want to invest in expensive items until they're in their own home. Or anyone on a budget, for that matter. PLUS it's absolutely FABULOUS for clumsy retired interior designers who like beet and orange juice smoothies! On the technical side, it's a masterful use of 21st Century chemistry. As the photos show, it is thin enough that a robot vacuum cleaner will take it in stride while the carpet remains sturdy and washable. (Obviously, I haven't washed mine yet, and if I ever do, I'll take it to a laundromat.) The manufacturer recommends using a carpet pad. I do too, but keep your goals in mind. A thick carpet pad will block a robot vacuum, but that may be worthwhile if your house gets a lot of static electrcity during cold winters. Just make sure the pad you buy is grounded. (Has a web of tiny copper wires embedded in it.) If that's not a problem, go with a thin open rubberized carpet pad designed to keep carpets where you want them. Any un-anchored carpet can "walk." Or if you want to preserve the flatness of this carpet, then simply use "carpet tape." It's available on Amazon. And now I feel good because I really enjoy writing positive reviews. No great secret you will not be getting a hand-woven rug, but for those of you - like myself who don't want to break the bank in having this nice piece of furniture addition, then this rug is for you. Easy to clean off stains , and looks nice when laid out. Does take 1-2 days for the creases to be undone. To expedite you can always run an iron the back end of it. I got it for my she shed, but am considering in using in main living area, as I have two cats and a senior dog. All in all would recommend. ... show more

Don't underestimate this adorable rug. The pink and gray has lovely contrast. The dark grey doesn't wash out the pretty rose color at all, they are perfectly balanced and though I have no washed it yet, I can sense the colors will last. This is something I wish I had when I first had my daughter. But this is great for anyone with toddlers or littles that are tiny tornados like mine. I would have skipped buying an expensive rug that eventually got tossed altogether and came right here for this haha. The bottom has good skid proof grip and it is surprisingly soft for how thin and utilitarian it is meant to be. My daughter says "oh my gosh it's so comfy!" and has enjoyed snacking, watching movies and playing with her toys on it. ... show more

This was going to be tucked into a back bedroom, but once I saw it, I actually decided to put it in my dining room. It's nicer than I expected for the price. The washability is a must between kids and pets. I have washed it once and had no issues with it going through the washer and dryer, and it came out looking good as new. The back grips my floor pretty well, but I still put the grippy corners on just because I have clumsy kids and spazz dogs who will trip over anything.
