We like to keep a night light on in the bathroom for those middle of the night trips. Our bathroom light is connected to the loud vent fan and the only outlet in the room, so we needed to improvise. We found this battery powered, modern design with motion sensing, and it's PERFECT!! We keep the door slightly closed, so the light instantly comes on when you push the door open. I must speak to the title of my review... I installed this light in the afternoon when it was still light out. At first, I was disappointed because the light would not come on when I waved my hand in front of it. This is because it needs to be dark for the motion sensor to work. Before buying this product, I read the reviews and even watched a video that made me skeptical. I am happy I bought it, though. It is a bit brighter than a nightlight, and it stays on for a good 30 seconds before turning off. It is very sensitive to motion, so you don't have to do jumping jacks in front of it for it to switch on. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

    • Works as expected - but broke the first time it fell off the wall

We use the sticky pads to stick it on a painted concrete wall in our basement. Worked great. Giving it 4 stars as it didn't survive 1 fall to the concrete floor after the stickiness proved not enough. Update: What happened when the unit fell off the wall is that the batteries bent the electrical tabs that hold them. Once I bent those tabs back out again, the unit worked again. Since we heard this rattling around, we disassembled it first. We saw all the electronics is relatively small and intact. That is when we noticed that the battery tabs had been bent and not bounced back. So don't despair if you hear rattling. It may be just the batteries. Check the battery tabs first. ... show more

So far, so great...Although the manufacturer discusses best results at 6 to 7 feet from the ground, I didn't want this light fixture to be any higher than the stainless-steel finish clock in my foyer, which to me is the topmost focal point of the room. Besides, since I am also a wee vertically-challenged, I need to be able to easily clobber the OFF switch at the bottom of the light fixture for times when I purposefully don't want the motion sensor firing the light, such as during religious observances. I therefore chose 5 ft 10 inches from the ground for the very top of the light fixture (implying that the mounting plate is actually fastened to the wall almost 2 inches even below that...a nice little "carpentry 101" exercise). At the height chosen, I am very pleased with the range of the motion detector of this little rig - based on my measurements, it would seem I am definitely getting light triggered within the manufacturer's stated 3 meter range (about 9 feet 10 inches), and even then some. And yeah...if there is already sufficient light already within a reasonable area (haven't quite figured out precisely what that distance is yet), the light on this fixture will not trigger. I know other reviewers have had negative comments with this "smart sensitivity" feature, but personally I don't see an issue, and frankly I am delighted that this thing saves battery power for only when light is truly needed.     • Motion Detection Doesn't Work & It's Blue (not the color showing in product pictures or description)

Latest/Last Update: The seller, who was very communicative & responsive, did get back to me, but was asking me not to return the light to Amazon, that they would refund the cost and send me a free replacement for all of my trouble with both my original purchase & replacement. However, within those emails, they were also using verbiage that stated sellers cannot refund your purchase, so I just kind of continued reading the emails with my head tilted and a bit of a "huh" going through my head. In the end, both my original defective light, and then the replacement defective light were returned to Amazon and Amazon issued an advanced refund for the originally purchased light (the replacement was at no cost to me). It is a shame, it's a great looking light esthetically, one of the nicest I've seen or been able to find on Amazon, and when it's on has a super perfect nice bright light for my apartment hallway outside of my front door, but unfortunately, it's the motion detector/sensor that I need and that was the defect in both the original & replacement unit. And, I genuinely have no idea what the seller was contradictorily saying in their messages w/me (will refund the cost and send you a free unit, followed by sellers cannot refund your purchases). I don't "not" recommend this light, it is very nice looking and the light itself is the perfect brightness, and even has a dimmable option, but I can't recommend it either due to all I've shared. Many people have purchased it w/out this issue (some w/this issue), so if you're one of the lucky ones who gets a fully functioning unit, I'd say it's a great motion sensor light. Update a few days later: My original light was defective (motion detector/sensor not working). Amazon offered a no cost replacement w/return of the first one. I received the replacement and the motion detector on this second one doesn't work either! Imagine? I am; however, working with the seller who's aware of this defect on older units, has fixed the issue on new units, seems eager to make this right and has been communicative and very nice to correspond with, so I'm hoping they'll make this right and will update my review based upon what happens next. Original Review: I'm a bit baffled. Everything works well, power button, the settings of the power button (bright, bright w/side LED lights, dim, etc.,); however, the motion detection doesn't seem to work at all, and I can't get it to turn on at all unless I hit the power button, which is "on" not turning on (or off) due to motion. If anyone's encountered this and knows what I may have missed, what's wrong, or if it should be working, I'd welcome the response. Thanks a bunch. ... show more

We got this product for a hallway in our home where we do not have an outlet for a regular nightlight. It arrived quickly, very easy to install, I used the two sided tape that came with the light, attractive to look at, I could not wait until dark to try it out. That evening I walked to the lamp, and sad to say although it shed a very nice light unto my feet, and a lamp to my path, it did not come on until I was almost next to it! It “sees” will straight ahead, but, if mounted on a way, not so good. It does light up the night well, but, I wish it came on sooner for us. ... show more
