I'm using this to remove linoleum floor from our laundry and kitchen area. Works like a charm and has held up to being beaten on with a rubber mallet. I'm sure it'll do quite a nice job on ice too.

I guess fairly sturdy, but I wanted it to remove weeds on driveway after spraying and letting them dry out. It isn't angled enough or wide enough or sharp enough to do the task. Not even a small row. Maybe it's operator error ha. I'm just getting a good sturdy flat head shovel. I'm not sure what I can use this for but surely I'll come up with something ... show more

    • Lightweight - should do fine if you use for appropriately sized jobs
Keep in mind, this is not a scraper to manually pull up a tile floor - it's a lightweight, sharp, thin-bladed scraper that does very well when used as intended on ice or thin layers. For my use case, I needed something to pull up old rubber rug padding, and this was 100% the ticket to do that well with little effort and very little disintegration of the product (I was already imagining the new shop vac filter I'd be buying after this one got clogged with a million bits of old rubber). For powdery snow, or a light layer of wet snow, you'll be fine with this. For a thin sheet of ice, you'll be fine with this. If you're hoping to cut 1' blocks of ice from Lake Michigan to store in the ice house until summer, you want a different tool. Smart engineering in how it arrives - keeps costs down to assemble at home and assembles easily. Tool attaches with two locking nuts - hardware included (and probably just use the hex wrench and mini-wrench included so you don't strip everything out with installation, says someone who's used power drill on other RTA items and found out). The locking nut keeps the tool attached sturdily. The weld between attachment point and tool is a little bit blobby under the powder coat, but it's an inexpensive tool, so I'm not expecting a union weld on it. It will hold (until I think I want to get into the lake ice business, anyway). Handle is lightweight, which is great, because anyone moving around the cold wet stuff knows how quickly things get tiring. This will be great for clearing steps in non-blizzard conditions, and the price is right for a five-star product. ... show more
