I had a glass table for several years and while it was nice, the depth left a lot to be desired. This table top has plenty of depth which is perfect for an arm/wrist hybrid gamer such as myself. I also bought the VWINDESK VJ201-S3 dual motor desk frame to go with this and the holes were a perfect match so there was no additional drilling needed. It took me about 1 hr to put everything together by myself. I would recommend having a second person around if you are able as assembly will go much faster that way. Ordered two of the 72x30 tops to pair with the VJ301 frame. Setup was straight forward but needed slight modification. The tops come pre-drilled for the Vwindesk frames but is not drilled correctly for an L where both tops are 30" deep. This configuration should be supported based on the frame's pictures, but the holes did not line up on one end. Not a big deal though as a 7/64" drill bit made quick pilot holes about 1.5" in from the outer most hole and secured the top without an issue! Similarly the pre-drilled and and pressed nuts for the connector plates were only found on the long edge of the top, not the short edge. The same drill bit made some new pilot holes and regular screws allowed the plates to secure the L connection! This is a great desktop for the money, but there is one criticism that I have. I'm comparing this to Uplift bamboo desktops which are basically double the price. The only complaint I have is that these desktops aren't adequately varnished/lacquered for long term wear and tear. I don't know how long this table will last, but it woul be nice to have more protectant on the surface. Uplift's bamboo desktops have more surface protectant, but that's where the functional differences stop. As the images show, I didn’t use this desk top as intended, but wow is it incredible! The finish is beautiful, it’s well made, sturdy, and highly enjoyable to use. For some details: I live in the Northwest of the United States, and delivery took 5 days—delayed one day past it’s original estimation. It arrived with the box damaged at the corner, and based on other’s reviews, I panicked a bit (this was my second desk top ordered because I ordered a contoured one from another brand originally, but didn’t factor the width of the cube shelves well enough, so I had to send that back and get this one). Thankfully the product was packaged incredibly well with protective foam sections throughout the entire box, but also reinforced, dense foam at the corners, anticipating a banged-up box. *Chef’s Kiss* I’m so happy this setup worked beautifully, and hope these photos can inspire someone else to consider this great desk top for something other than a standing desk too! If so, I recommend IKEA cube shelves over the pictured ClosetMaid brand—they’re way higher quality. Also, I used non-slip furniture pad stickers on the top of the shelves to create cushion, to add tension, and to ensure that I could get a perfectly level desk top on uneven cube shelves before screwing them down to the desk top. (And be sure to pre-drill holes to avoid cracking the bamboo.) I love this setup, and am so happy with my purchase! Thank you! ... show more

Been looking for affordable options for standing desk for a while. Maybe I haven't looked thoroughly enough, but I found that it is usually not more affordable to build your own slab + base combination. Choosing an IDÅSEN from ikea will forfeit the max weight capability and using the base from other brands and scrap a custom slab will become expensive and still less capable. This bamboo slab form VWINDESK(Bought an refurbished one ) is more affordable, strong and appealing when it is coupled with the base. There are predrilled holes for easy installation. *The only problem I had with this brand is that the screws are sometimes unreliable. I bought the base a 2nd time after I moved. One hexa screw became slippery after I installed the base the 1st time, and a cross screw did so at a second time. ... show more

I have an electric desk where the top is quite small and I've wanted to have more room. I researched tops here on Amazon and discovered this gem. For the money, it's outstanding. People are saying it does get beat up a little on delivery, and that was true in my case too. However, the dents were so small that when I put a coating of oil on the desk, they disappeared. It's about 35 pounds - very light for its weight, but sturdy! Since the frame and the top were two different manufacturers, I did have to drill new pilot holes and measure for it, but this was super easy. Just put the underside of the desk on the floor on padding (use the foam that came with it) place the frame on top, and fasten with the screws you have or the ones supplied. I love this desk! I was on the fence determining what to purchase for a tabletop for my desk setup. I was stuck between the VIVO, a butcher block and this bamboo desktop at the preferred size of at least 70" x 30". Ultimately I am more than satisfied with this tabletop. Shipping and packaging was excellent for my order. I did not have any scratches or dings/dents in the table. It holds all of the weight I have added to the desk without supports underneath. I was going for size and functionality and got it. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is on the fence of going over a certain amount for their budget desk setup.
