The vinyl is of good quality and the brushed steel looked great. Adhesion is off the charts. My only issue is that after putting it on the surface it is very difficult to reposition or lift to remove bubbles. This stuff sticks and if you try to lift it to make any adjustment, it will stretch and then not go back down as smoothly. I am not a full-time wrap professional but I have used other materials that allow you to lift and adjust. It may have to do with my lack of advanced skills but just thought it worth mentioning. ... show more

Love my car, but wanted a little change. I originally spent $200 for cut pieces from another place, but when I got them they only covered the face of each trim piece. As you'll notice from the pictures they are inset around the vents and also go over the top and bottom too. Would've looked funny. Also, they have a more permanent glue which could ruin the original trim if you try to remove down the road. Anyway, they refunded my money and then I found Vvivid vinyls. You can't beat the price and best of all, if you want a new look next year it can be removed without damaging anything. :) One roll covered all 7 pieces of wood trim on my 3 series, but I cut everything right to size first so no room for error. The corners are more difficult, but if you REALLY take your time you can make it look seamless. A couple of my corners aren't perfect, but I think I'm the only one that notices. I had to heat and stretch the corners a lot. If you get something with more of a pattern I think stretching would mess with the pattern. Give it a try, it's worth the time and $$$ ... show more

Just as a matter of fact, this vinyl is not a smooth surface. Some "gun metal" finishes are smooth with the appearance of gunmetal but this one feels very similar to a spool of string. "With" the grain it's very smooth but against the grain it's a bit like sandpaper. Several portions of the one I received were bent which really messes it up for my purposes. If youre only using only part of the sheet then it's probably fine, but if your intention is to use the entire sheet all the way to the edge there's a good chance that the edges will be dented up. This is not a shipping problem this is a manufacturing problem The cardboard tube which the vynal is wrapped around does not reach the end. In other words, the vinyl overlaps the cardboard tube enough to where it bends very easily. I've included pictures ... show more

    • Not a “raw metal” texture as described.

The description states that it has a “brushed texture” that’s supposed to feel like raw metal. I do not agree... The texture feels “brushed”, but more like a wall painted with a very coarse paint brush. It’s a rigid texture, which is for the bubble free design of this material. I’ve only seen this texture in a transfer tape, not in vinyl. I haven’t tried this product yet so I don’t know how well it sticks to any surface type, or how well transfer tape sticks to it. Also, the 15” x 5’ roll I ordered comes rolled up way too tight without a core. You might be able to fit a dime through the center, possibly a penny. I was fortunate that it doesn’t have waves when flattened out, but from experience working with vinyl, it’s probably a common issue for those who buy this product and receive it in the form that I did. ... show more
