I was optimistic, unfortunately the cups connection to the charging plate would only connect if you pushed down on it. Something like this should have been caught with quality control, especially for how much you pay. It charged, turned on, then shut off and wouldn't turn back on.

I originally purchased this high-tech mug for my visually impaired son, but it turned out to be, not user friendly, for the visually impaired; neither the control on the mug, nor the "vistoo app," are user friendly. I'm sighted and using it just fine. I like it because when I'm working at my computer I sometimes forget about my cup of coffee, and let it get cold. This mug keeps my coffee warm, or hot, whichever I choose. The manufacturer needs to update their user manual. It instructed me to download and install the "vistoo app" on my mobile phone. That app is only for apple phones I believe and doesn't work on android mobile phones. I downloaded the "vistoo S3 Pro" app, and it worked great on my Android. I only gave four stars because their user manual requires updating, but had it been correct, I would have given five stars. ... show more

Love this mug so far, it heats up fast, and is reliable every time I want to use it. It's super simple to use, I prefer not to use the app and just click through the setting built into the mug. This is the only battery powered mug I have purchased, but I would put this up against anything else out there as far as quality and functionality and design goes. Everything, from the packaging to the little charging coaster, is very well built and just looks good. I haven't used the app that comes with it, but you don't need it at all to operate. There is a single button on the bottom that turns it on and toggles the temperature. The led on the front tells you if it's charging, and indicates the temperature when you pick the mug up (red, green, blue, etc...). I would be nice to have deg f on the mug instead of c, but if you just treat them as levels of hotness then you're good anyway. The top level is plenty hot. The mug does vibrate too, which I think has to do with the app somehow, maybe achieving ideal temp? I haven't tested the battery length at full capacity for the hottest setting, but it easily gets me through the morning just sipping my coffee. ... show more

I have arthritis, so using phone apps is a real pain, literally. I use an app on my phone if it is my only choice. For this mug, it is not necessary as everything I want has settings for it right on the cup itself. The settings seem to work properly, though I have not checked the different temperatures. I like my coffee hot and keep the mug set at the top temperature of 65 degrees centigrade. The cup keeps my coffee good and hot for an hour or more, easily. I rarely let a cup of joe wait very long to be enjoyed, so an hour is actually a stretch. In fact, I have found that I’ve slowed down some, no longer made to pace drinking my coffee based on how quickly it cools. It is not a cheap cup and saucer, but I’ve been using it almost daily for four months and it looks and works just as good as it did on day one. I suspect it will continue to do so for a long time, but I’ll edit this post if anything goes wrong. ... show more
