Bought to stir 3d printing resin in the bottle for less air inclusion. Want sure about whether it could stop thick liquid in bottle with a slight dome bottom, but it DOES! Can spin a longer stir bar easily - the heater is frosting! Have to be careful and not set the heater too high ( can heat to 300 °f) that bottles melt- watch closely on digital readout- heats a 1 L bottle from 70 to 85F while stirring in about 7-8 min 🤗. I don't have to keep my whole room at printer temp now! The integrated test stand holds the thermo probe conveniently while stirring. All the things my computer-fan-version hoped to be and it was much less than $100 and pretty well made and engineered ... show more

As others have advised, the temp control does not work and temperature continues to rise well past the set amt Edit: the seller reached out and expressed an understanding and also apologized for the issues with the product. A full refund was provided at their request. I appreciate sellers like this

    • Temp control is nonexistent.
You can set this to whatever temp you want and it will continue to raise. This is a huge deal when dealing with temp sensitive products. Tried all settings and even watched every video available. This unit is not for someone who absolutely needs temp control

    • Cheap hotplate/stirrer - NOT lab quality
First let me preface this with the fact that I am a chemist with 20+ years experience. I wanted a cheap hotplate/stirrer to melt some solid low m.p. fats. It works for that purpose but it is far from lab quality. The manual was clearly written by a non-native English speaker and contains hard to read, contradictory information ("C setting, which shows default value of 10.0, please do not adjust it" and later "Temperature slow to respond - C value is too big, adjust it"???), inadequate or nonsensical information ("separated into low and high pressure system"????). The Sc parameter is supposed to correct the displayed temp to actual value but does not (4-10 degree discrepancy as measured by an independent temperature monitor). Most of the adjustments are inadequately described or not described at all. The stirrer cannot be operated independently of the heater and it won't heat at all without stirring. Could not get it to heat at all beyond 180F. All temps are in F not Celsius and no way to switch to C. PID control is questionable - as another reviewer noted it seems to be full on or not at all even when close to setpoint. But it does melt my fats and stir them. Just make sure before you buy that with these issues it is adequate for your intended usage. ... show more

    • Works OK after adjustments
This unit has a Proportional type controller which is NOT the same as a true PID. To tune, increase P value until system overshoots. As a starting point try P = number of ml sample being heated. There is no autotune.. Not very powerful but can get a 1000ml container to 190 eventually. I am able to get 1 deg regulation by reducing E to 1. Construction is shoddy and the rotation of the spinner was not flat causing a wobble... bit fixed easily with a screwdriver. Decent value for the money if you're handy....     • Slow, Inaccurate, Dirty
I don’t know how this compared with other hotplate stirrers, but I’ve been waiting 5 hours for my 1000ml sample to reach 172F. It is at 160F now and I have to check it manually because the sensor is very inaccurate and the means of compensating for that don’t seem to work. The unit was in bizarre aesthetic condition like other people describe, paint on the cord, a film of dirt on the outside. If this will work for your purposes just by the one without the LED, save some money, don’t bother with it if you need anything to boil. ... show more

The temperature control didn’t work as we thought it would. We had to keep shutting the machine down and take our stuff off due to it getting too hot

I wish the temperature probe mount was taller. Stirrer and Heater works well. Cons: a timer would be nice. No Dual temperature display C and F. Only F. Minor complaints but valid.
