It's a magnetic stirrer. I use it to mix my powdered eggs...wish it was more powerful but it was inexpensive and works well...I put my BEAKER on it. I like saying the word BEAKER...it reminds me of a certain character on a certain children's show that used to air on PBS.

Worked as expected out of the box. After some time in storage with the stirring bar held to the plate by its magnetic force, the device then ran with lowered performance and a scraping noise. Opening it, I found that the glue used to hold the internal magnets to their rotating platform had failed on one side and the stirring bar's attraction pulled one internal magnet up from its socket and it was then scraping the bottom of the plate from within. After removing the magnet, I found that the glue was still wet but soon hardened. I presume that the glue used during assembly needs oxygen to cure and was applied and sealed by the placement of the magnet so quickly that it could not dry since leaving the factory till I removed the loose magnet and exposed it to air again. I cleaned up the magnet and socket, applied my own glue, and the device works appropriately again. Mine may be a unique case, but if yours slows down and makes a scraping noise, it may be easily fixed with a Phillips screwdriver and some glue of your own. (Mind the polarity of any magnet removed. Reversing that would make the device useless.) ... show more

I bought this based on the strong power and size ability to stir up to 100oz and that it came with a magnetic bar as well. I would have liked to have at least 1 additional stir bar just in case but its ok. The stirrer beaker sizer is a 5” table, so be aware of your beaker size (not included) size prior to buying. It has the ability to change speeds as needed. I am not sure I would change anything with the product and am pleased with my purchase. ... show more

They all died within a couple weeks of each other after using them for about a year. You get what you pay for. If you are gonna be using a lot then get something better quality

The media could not be loaded. This is a great magnetic stirrer. It stirs well and is very quiet. I love that it comes with a magnet retriever. I added a video so that you can see how quietly it runs. I am very please with this purchase.

At first, my mixer worked fine. I did like the readout and other functions, but found that over time, the speed funtion was itermittent. Sent back, as I must have gotten one that was bad. Other than that, for the price and readout, it is a great little mixer
