  • Very Good
Style: 16-INCH
I chose this Voltask over its competitors on Amazon because: 1) it has wheels 2) it has directional "fins" 3) at 16" it is wider than most power snow shovels so requires fewer passes to clear the snow. 4) the batteries go into the base unit instead of at the top of the handle. Having the battery weight lower allows the unit to stand up unattended. I am not sure whether competitors with the batteries at the top would stand up or if the top-heavy weight would make them fall. The unit was very easy to assemble. Although most of the unit is plastic, it is well-built. I have used it three times so far: The first time was with about an inch of VERY heavy slushy snow. It threw the snow maybe 3 feet, but enough to do the job. After a while, the directional fins got stuck and would only turn to one side, not the other. The Voltask was very easy to maneuver. After completing my 30' x 16' driveway and about 20 feet of 3' sidewalk, the battery indicators showed they were down only one light out of three. The second use was with about 2-3 inches of average wetness/weight snow. It threw it about 6-7 feet. It took about half the time and 1/4 of the effort compared to using a manual snow shovel. The directional fins did not get stuck this time and proved useful. The third time was with 3-4" of semi-fluffy snow. The Voltask threw it about 10 feet. The city snow plow left about 6-8" at the end of the driveway and it cut through that with no problem. The fins operated normally and didn't get stuck. The wheels have proven to be a big plus for the Voltask. In some situations I needed to pull it backwards. Without wheels, it would have just drug on the concrete. The wheels make it easy to pull backwards. The directional fins help. They only rotate to 30 degrees in each direction, so are somewhat limited, but having them is still a plus compared to most of its competitors. The 16" width is a plus. Most competitors are 12"-13" The batteries have easily lasted long enough to complete the job each time I have used it. The battery charger has slots for both batteries so you can put them in the charger at the same time. Cons/areas for improvement: 1) Like all the power snow shovel brands, a longer main handle/shaft would be nice. If I had needed to use the extra D-shaped second handle, (the one that attaches to the main shaft below the main handle), I would have had to bend over, which my back would not appreciate. For at least the two times I have used it so far, I did not have to use that extra handle and was able to stand up straight and use only the top handle (I am 6 feet tall). A deeper or wetter snow may require using the second handle to get more leverage to push through the snow. Time will tell in that regard. UPDATE: I was able to go through 6-8" of snow left by the city plow at the end of the driveway without needing to use the extra handle. 2) The directional fins, while a plus for even having them, are limited to 30 degrees in each direction and got stuck the first time I used it. The heavy snow got caught in the fins and prevented them from turning in one direction. The next two uses with snow that wasn't so slushy, the fins operated with no problem. The lever to change the fin direction is on the base so you have to bend over to change it. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Works great!
Style: 16-INCH
I got to use this yesterday with the snow we got. It worked great. Cleared almost our whole driveway. Ran out of battery before I was able to finish. Definitely worth it though. Save my lower back and worked very easy. If you have a larger area maybe consider getting extra batteries or will have to wait to charge the ones that come with it. But what a difference on my back. I got this because I am by myself in the mornings and didn't want to worry about pulling my back or hip out.i am a short girl didn't have any issues with size either. Glad I purchased it! Plus it was on sale. Only gave 4 stars because it ran out of battery before I could finish but great product so far. I am considering purchasing extra batteries. ... show more

  • Almost perfect, but in the dark. *UPDATE* 1/15/24
Style: 16-INCH
The media could not be loaded. Received my power shovel and it was packaged great. Easy to put together. It took about 5 minutes from opening the box to operating. However where the problem comes for me is that the light included with my shovel won't turn on. I charged it and tried everything but no luck. Contacted Amazon and all they would do is offer a refund and return the whole shovel or keep the shovel as is and accept the light not working. I am not about to break the shovel down and try to repack it in the box to return it. So I guess I am SOL and stuck without a light. I did reach out to the company on their website and it said they would reply within 48 hours. If the company reaches out to me and sends a replacement light I'll update this review. ***UPDATE 1/15/24*** I contacted the company and they got a replacement light out to me right away. Customer service is very important to me and Voltask answered the call. I also have now used the powershovel a few times and I'm very impressed. This thing is a beast, eats snow right up and leaves the driveway nice and clean. I have attached a video of the shovel in use as there wasn't any video showing it in use. My only advice or maybe complaint would be the battery doors.....it'd be awesome to see a latch to keep them closed. After I'm done using the shovel I like to wipe the snow off the shovel before removing the batteries. The battery doors have opened a bit as I'm wiping the shovel down allowing snow to get into the battery compartment. It's avoidable if you are very careful wiping it down but would just be a nice upgrade to the shovel if there was a latch to keep them shut and maybe even a gasket around it to help keep it dry. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: 16-INCH
The media could not be loaded. I’ve used it a few times. It’s been working well so far. My first impression was how robust it felt. The plastic build doesn’t feel cheap. One charge is enough for my small driveway and sidewalk. The lights are great even though the light is kinda too sensitive. I also like how I can adjust the throw direction. ... show more

  • Sadly Disappointed
Style: 16-INCH
Today, in NH, we finally had snow. I absolutely hate snow, but I couldn't wait to try out my new snow shovel. I was so very disappointed. It worked for about 25 minutes, on about 1 inch of semi wet snow. Then suddenly stopped. I thought the batteries ran out but no. It started and stalled again. It did this several more times. I let it sit for a while, wondering if it got over heated, (like a paper shredder), or was too sensitive to semi wet snow, but each time I tried it, it would shut off when it touched snow. I finally had to finish my driveway with a shovel. I had great expectations for this piece of equipment. I am of a mature age and purchased this to make the clearing of the driveway and walkways around my home manageable. I even went as far as purchasing 2 separate batteries to charge while I'm using the cordless shovel for efficiency. Now the return window has closed, and I am stuck with an expensive and useless piece of machinery. Oh, and the auger adjustment, wouldn't allow me to change positions. I should have known that was a bad omen. My statement to the Voltask Company, "Thanks for nothing". ... show more
