    • Best used for streaming on Android, buggy on IOS, and buggy in general
*UPDATE 7.29.22: In 2022, these voice changers no longer work on phones. The cause is unknown. The one I had was working just fine until a week ago. It lasted a year. All the positive reviews were from 2021. I tried it with iOS and it would not work either. I purchased three and I tested them for hours. I factory reset my older android phones, I tested them with a brand new android phone, and an ios phone. I switched cables. I rechecked and reconnected for hours to no avail. I will have to return the ones I recently purchased. I have to switch my Instagram audience to Twitch now where I can use a my Clownfish voice changer on PC. I would give maybe like 3.5 stars because the product at least gets me by and does the job WITH some exceptions. I've bought two of these and had approximately a month of experience with this product and ones like it (V9 soundcard). (I bought two, because I thought the first one broke, UNTIL I figured out what was actually happening.) From my experience and from what I've seen, it appears these products have better compatibility with Android. This may not be necessarily the fault of the manufactures. IOS has been known to be an operating system that is difficult to modify. I think in order for the product to work the operating system must recognize the sound card driver and not "bypass" it. IOS: It works with IOS for approximately the first two to three weeks. However, this isn't without fussing with the device plugging it in and out. After approximately two to three weeks, no matter how many times I plugged it in and out, it failed and would not work with IOS 14.6 and 13.6. I think it is an operating system issue, possibly driver or security related. You know how with iPhone they may not support third party chargers or are you familiar with "this accessory is not supported" error? Sometimes there has to be a certain chip installed in a product for IOS/Apple to support it. I think that is the issue with IOS. You may have better luck if your IOS device is jail broken. When the device works with IOS, I can use it on all apps and for all functions. I could make screen recorded videos and videos with my camera, I think it worked for phone calls, and I could stream with it. However, sometimes when streaming using IOS my real voice would leak through. After approximately two to three weeks, streaming also did not work either. Android: I saw that many videos demonstrating these devices used Android and this is the most used operating system. I switched it to Android and I can stream without any issues. I have been streaming on Android for approximately a week now and no issues other than buzzing. However, when I would try to make a video using the voice changer, it would cancel out and I would hear my real voice. I do not understand why this is. I believe all this issues could be rooted in the device using the built-in mic as a default over the sound card mic, despite having it plugged in. Anyhow, I need it mostly for streaming and that is working out for me on Android devices. Conclusion: It is better than V9 soundcard. V9 soundcard has an echo effect (or "wet dry" effect) than cannot be turned off. That card would not work with IOS 14.6 and 13.6 AT ALL either. I lost my patience with V9 sound card quickly. This device does have a buzzing issue when on stand by. I use this device on live streams and I get around it by using the mute button. The buzzing does not interfere with your voice if you're using a good mic. (You can use different mics.) Mobile devices and tablets are not as sophisticated as computers. They weren't made to support external sound card devices like these. Across the board, no mobile compatible sound card device will be perfect. There will always be setbacks that you will have to deal with or tolerate. Before purchasing something like this, consider whether or not you're ready to deal with the potential issues. ... show more
